No, not quite Rhondda 😂. You’re getting there though! A ‘Ferdy’ goes back many years where a thread or post says something that’s been posted before I.e. it’s not news anymore. It had something to do with Les Ferdinand being ‘the news’ but reported by posters more than once. Hope that makes sense😁

😂 🤣 Thank you mate . I genuinely feel embarrassed when I do duplicate threads mind. But since mod D has gone I feel invincible. Like I can get away with it

Conner Roberts new contract on 11:00 - Mar 7 with 856 views | ReslovenSwan1 | CR has fulfilled his potential so congratulations to him. The Swansea dream is over. If he really wanted to join Swansea it was this summer at the age of around 30. Showing up at 32 is no use to Swansea who have to bring through younger players.

For once I have to agree with you and would hope that someone will mention that to him, lots didnt want him back this summer whereas I championedthe move to bring him home at 30 he is still playing very well but I'd be 1000% against any former player thinking that they could use us as a retirement home with a half decent contract thrown in, a pity really that he's choosen to renew with Burnley suppose the lure of the Prem and all that, that and the extra 30k a week as well.

He has committed long term to Burnley as there is an option for a third year. That takes him up to just shy of his 33rd birthday. He won't be looking for us to do him any favours when he calls it a day at Burnley. He is a quality player who has without a doubt made the right decision for himself and his family. Good luck to him.

Not getting into any arguements with anyone on here but 10 grand a week for 3 years if properly invested plus what he's already earned will have set himself and his family up nicely for the rest of their lives PLUS there is nothing stopping a ex-footballer getting a proper job when they hang up their boots, Ive worked all my life and the fact that i'll be leaving my daughter a big family house as an inherritance means she has an edge over most kids her age is enough for me. Why people think that footballers need to have multimillions in the bank after they finish playing is a mystery to me.

I understand you opinion, but why should anyone work for less than they are worth. I never did would you, unless a better quality of life was available.

Exactly you only go to work to earn as much as you can, and 10k a week isn't a kings ransom these days with deductions. Good luck Connor earn as much as you can while you have the chance

It just depresses me the way the world has gone with people not satisfied with 10k a week ( not withstanding deductions). I'm not saying that CR wouldn't do such things but i swear on a stack on bibles that if i was on anything like these players i'd be setting up charities left, right and centre.

Footballers won’t be in the job of playing until they are 67+ so it’s regarded as a short career. It’s important that they build as much capital that they can which they can invest in order to secure income for the rest of their lives. Used wisely, they’ll have very comfortable lives most of them. Only those at the very top will be able to gorge on excesses. Roberts doesn’t come into that category in my opinion.

Again thats nonsense 10k a week over 10 yrs is over 5 mill and just because they pack in playing doesnt mean they are not allowed to get a normal job with normal wages

Of course they can get other jobs, no argument there. But I’m looking at the earning potential as a player in isolation and in many cases it’s short. £5m is a lot but lifespan is long so that capital needs investing to bring in income. If Connor wants to fit my new kitchen when he retires th3 I’ll pay him the going rate😁

PFA pension no longer available at age 35 that ended in 2006. They have to wait now until 57 or 60+
