πŸ”΄ Likely candidates for the Swans job 19:37 - Feb 17 with 13922 viewsKeithHaynes

Let’s start with the ones who are way out of their depth.

Rob Page
Garry Monk.

The Swans need to be focussed and a proper manager who knows the Championship and has been successful is the only answer. Quit dreaming about idiots πŸ‘

This appointment will tell us exactly how ambitious the current owners are.

Ian Evatt

Over five years he had a nigh on 50% win rate.

Always baffled me why they sacked him unless they saw Schumacher as a step up.

In fact 48% over his career but it’s all been non league or League one.

"Evatt frequently decides against naming a substitute goalkeeper on the bench, preferring to have more attacking options and has had outfield players do goalkeeping training, just in case. Evatt will sometimes bring on attacking players when winning matches rather than defensive players, preferring to score more goals than defend a lead."

Clearly not right for us...

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Yeah. With a subs bench nine deep there's no real excuse not to have a keeper on it. Eight outfield options should be enough for any coach.

What’s Van Bommel doing these days?

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

12 months at Oxford isn't a great deal of relevant experience

And also, look at Oxford since they got rid of Buckingham & appointed Rowett. For me, that’s yet another cheap option. I’m all for giving a young up and coming manager a chance, but in our position, we need experience, because the alternatives aren’t worth thinking about

Alan Tate for some reason I feel like this is his time .

All I want is for the club to aim high and give us a boss who doesn’t play with plan A only.

We need to rebrand let’s get rid of the β€˜Swansea way’

Let’s evolve into the next breath of fresh air for the prem.

Gary O Neil would be pretty sweet

Is that the Rob Edwards who got Luton relegated from the EPL & took them to the relegation places in the Championship ? The same guy who thought they were the better side against us over Xmas ? No thanks

There are a lot of people who will think that "Welsh Heritage" is a thing to be taken into account rather than something that should be utterly ignored in this process.

Time for an older more experienced manager. Someone who might hang around for 3-4 years.

At Swansea if you are up and coming

If you are good you go within 1-2 seasons
If you are bad you go after one season.

An experienced man is needed who can develop players and will not get starry eyed like Williams did when WBA gossip
starts. In the mould of Mowbrey / Guidolin.

I’m a patriotic Welshman just like a lot of the posters on here, but this Welsh heritage has s complete BS. The club has to appoint the RIGHT person for the job regardless of nationality.
Laudrup arguably gave the club its greatest achievement, Martinez laid a foundation which Sousa built upon and which Rodger’s eventually tine tuned to get the club promoted to the Premier League - none were Welsh.

The right person must be appointed - end of.

I would be happy with an inexperienced guy who plays exciting football, but I think I agree with you. At this moment, we need stability. Guideline would be the perfect one for me
