There's an awful lot of posters being wise after the event

For me, the selection of starting XI, was spot on. The right mix of resting key players vs game time for those on the fringes.
The result was v harsh, considering the way we played, particularly first half. Almost every goal capitalised on our mistakes.
Leicester fielded a full side and, despite recent form are still a PL side. That showed in the clinical finishing.
Once we were 5-2 down, the game was over. Subs at that point were irrelevant.
Ashby had a mare and Edwards, who is incredibly short of game time, showed why he can't get in Soton team.
The biggest disappointment, again, was Madsen. Doesn't get involved enough and has been overtaken by an 18 yo. He had his chance yesterday. Not sure he'll get many more.

There are plenty who have absolute clarity when we lose and know exactly what went wrong and how it could have been avoided. The same who after most wins will say we were lucky and got away with one.

Subs wouldn't have been irrelevant at HT when we were only 3-2 down as Leicester were there for the taking .

If you're happy to travel miles in freezing conditions to see us toss away a game then fine but I'm not .

I can imagine the collective sighs from the pubs in Leicester as the team was announced but someone in each group would probably have added, don’t worry - there’s a plan for halftime subs and if there’s only one goal in it, then we will still have a chance.

Massive let down (not just for the few who didn’t sigh) and something that should be dealt with in communication, in a similar manner to the way JCS covered it in his video.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

It might have given 4,600 of us a nicer day though.

Sorry, meant to up vote this.
That’s the point for me. I am still worried about getting dragged back into the relegation battle but what is the point if we don’t try and beat a prem team when we have the chance, in front of so many fans.
Commercially, a cup run generates enthusiasm amongst existing fans and brings us to the attention of potential fans.
Not changing it up at half-time was really disappointing.

I think you should try to win every match you play in. Part of the reason standards have fallen at the club over the last decade (look at those tables for most defeats, etc. that were on social media recently) is our lackadaisical attitude towards cup competitions. It never made sense to say we need to comply with FFP yet persistently throw away opportunities to advance and make some money with a cup run, never mind build momentum and grow the club's profile.

I love Marti but he didn't do what he said he would in the preview...and I'm someone who didn't travel to Leicester to stare at fog in the cold yesterday. Even at 3-2 down at half-time, the game is there for the taking. Make some changes.

Unsurprising but disappointing nonetheless.

At 1-1 we started to dominate then Koli blazed over which if was scored would have huge with Leicester starting to ask questions amoung themselves.Even after Ashby blew it and they got another to go 3-1 up Winks literally handed us a goal which really upset their bench and fans .
Right there was the chance for Marti to make his changes to see what we could do early in the second half but for some reason he chose not to and there went our FA cup non adventure for another year.

Totally agree, Kolli should have buried that chance at 1-1, felt the game went away from us at 3-1. What was Ashby doing really poor decision making with hand up for that cross, with a penalty that killed the game for us. Difference for me is even though Leicester are a struggling Premier team, when they get their chances they score and can step up, we just don't have that ability and sort of felt conceding that early goal it was going to be a difficult game. Great support from the travelling fans rather let down by the weather and the team performance. We are a mid to lower table Championship team and the performance sort of mirrored this.

I received this as a Xmas present most years, it’s amazing !

Each year, the invisibility lasted longer and provided better coverage - the product people are always optimising its performance. It even works abroad in the Middle East.

Love it - can’t get enough of them. Highly recommended.

Also, if we were treating cup seriously why was Nardi dropped ?

I guarantee Nardi plays on Saturday.

QED...we were not taking the fa cup that seriously.

We’re still bleating on about yesterday then.

All players who played with the exception of Walsh have played plenty of football this season . No one was out there who shouldn’t have been .That wasn’t our ‘second string’ . It wasn’t a bunch of kids brought out of the stiffs to play a premier league team .
We just weren’t good enough . We didn’t retain the football well enough just like every other game this season. We just didn’t get away with it this time.
I read things like “Marti lied to us”, “that starting line up was minging”, “f*cking furious with Marti” and god knows what the idiot I’ve muted has vomited out in the last 24 hours. Seen usually reasonable and interesting and sensible posters be personally abusive to a couple of players . Come on guys . We all hate losing . Conceding 6 is embarrassing of course . But take a breath ffs.

Plenty to disagree with Marti on yesterday. No subs at half time for example. Seemed strange to me but there would be a reason for it. I don’t know why but my guess is he likes his players to play themselves out of bad form . Thats why Madsen started . Thats why he persevered with Ashby….thats why he never took Fox off against Portsmouth.. we don’t have to agree with any of that stuff , but we’re all football manager 2025 in hindsight aren’t we?

MC has been in charge for just over a year . The fact that we go out in the 3rd round year after year after year isn’t Marti’s burden to carry . It’s not his problem .
It’s our problem and rightly so . We’re entitled not to accept that, but a coach ultimately lives and dies by his league position (mark robins) not a cup win at Leicester. The bigger picture is we need Dunne and Smyth to help stay out of that drop zone . You may not agree but you have to accept that that may be the clubs and Marti’s priority .
He put out a team he thought would be competitive and he was right . 3 terrible individual errors in the first half and we concede 3 goals . A coach can’t do anything about that .
And for the 4th and for the 6th.

He wouldn’t have expected his players to fold like that so maybe just maybe the players should hold their hands up as JCS alluded too.

25 pages of whining .
Blimey .
How many pages was the Luton match thread after a great victory ?
And 1 last thing that if taken the wrong way will upset everybody but it’s not meant too.
I’ve read that the 4500 didn’t deserve that starting line up.

The 4500 were incredible yesterday as I’ve said previously. Loud , proud and just brilliant .

But surely not one of the 4500 bought a ticket without wondering if we might just play a weakened team and if you did then that’s a bit naive . In the end we left Dunne , Smyth and 18 year old kid out who has made 12 appearances. Nardi would have made little to no difference as Walsh had no chance with any of the goals . The team could have been a hell of a lot weaker in truth . Chair, Varane, Field, JCS, Saito, Kolli, Ashby, Paal all started and have started league games in the last 2 weeks . Edwards will start games going forward so how weak was it really? Too late perhaps but Smyth, Colback and Frey got minutes . So just Dunne then. And I read that we’ve rested most of the squad and we’ll still lose at Plymouth ? Most of the squad??

Listen I don’t expect our fan base to accept losing 6-2. It hurts .
Some of the criticism has been fair and deserved . But 25 pages, multiple threads , personal attacks , calling the coach and someone who continues to polish and ever growing turd….a liar…. Come on .

Well put.

For me, I went as it's a doable trip from Yorkshire where I live, a ground I hadn't been to before and I want to be there when we eventually win another FA Cup 3rd round tie!

I would have preferred a stronger line-up but wasn't surprised by the team that was picked.

Re your first sentence, that's exactly what MC says too. As far as footballing mendacity goes, it's not quite up there with Boil's 'loyalty is a thing for me' schtick, but it's still pretty piss poor and disrespectful to the fans. I call it managing your brand in both cases.

25 pages which would have been 7 pages had not a certain gentleman posted angrily and several others rising in towards his bait.

Many blaming Marti's selections - these games though can show us for certain, where some players are, so useful in itself, just for that.

The games irrelevant. If we had won, as it turns out next game would have been away to Man Utd.....

Although disappointing, some positives, and our real season restarts next weekend.

25 PAGES - OVER AND OUT !!

I am going to make it 26 just for fun. Both you and Mart have mis counted btw almost every single match thread goes 15 pages maybe more depending on the outcome so its just 10 pages complaining about this loss.
As for playing Man Utd that would have generated so much exposure for us around the world there might have been some benefit even if we got killed dead .
Of course we could still have lost at Leicester being behind at half time but there were cracks in that team and we did not expose them enough

Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread. on 19:50 - Jan 12 by mart_Goblin

Come on .

Suppose it all depends what your standards are and what you think is acceptable.

Like I said Marti has burnt a bit of credit after that but lets hope we get a reaction and a win at Plymouth.

So, those of us still unhappy at Saturday's team selection, the performance and the result are 'bleating' are we? Well, on behalf of us bleaters, we are so terribly sorry to have expressed emotions that do not conform with the standards required by those who clearly inhabit the emotional, intellectual and moral highground. And what's worse, we've been bleating about it for far longer than the proscribed 4-hour wailing period. How dare we!

Never mind, at least we have now been told by our betters that our behaviour is unaccectable, and we shall go back to smiling beatifically for the honour and privilege of sharing our support with those who deign to allow us to do so. Thank you.

J Lynch - *****

I received this as a Xmas present most years, it’s amazing !

Each year, the invisibility lasted longer and provided better coverage - the product people are always optimising its performance. It even works abroad in the Middle East.

A Dozzell - *****

Love it - can’t get enough of them. Highly recommended.

Brilliant item, I can ghost around undetected. Just remember to wear it when texting knob pics to your colleagues.
