Thordarson incoming.... on 08:03 - Jul 7 by ozexile
Please let him be a box to box number 8. Been crying out for one of those since John Gregory left.
We had one in Mass Luongo but for some strange reason some people didn't rate him, hes shown he's a good player again at Ipswich last year, Mckenna can spot a good player.
Not as good as Gregory obviously but still good at Championship level at least, anyway you know all about him judging by your location...

Some funny reactions on here! Funny how he was a class player when he was on his way to Derby and now he's potentially a Ranger, they didn't want him anyway.
Zamora!!!!!!!

I actually liked Luongo but IMO he was a number 6. A proper 8 would have scored lots more goals.

Any chance of a translation so far I know via Google he's an Icelandic international playing for Silkeborg in Denmark.
His contract runs out in 6 months. We pay around 1 million Euros for him. He´s 1,89 cm right-footet. Has scored 1 in 3 in the danish superliga last season. He scored the winner in the danish cup final against my second team AGF. He´s travelling to London today to have a medical. Tipsbladet is a pretty reliant source for transfer news.

As my Icelandic is a bit ropey, here's a google translation:
Stefan Teitur Thordason only has six months left on his contract with Silkeborg, which is why it is the last chance in this transfer window for them to score money on him. It seems to succeed if all goes well with the trip to England.
According to Tipsbladet's information, the midfielder is scheduled to travel to England as early as Sunday, after which he will have to undergo a medical check-up and sign his contract before the transfer can become a reality. The club from Søhøjlandet announced on Saturday evening that they are negotiating a sale of the goal-scoring Icelander, and that they expect it to end up falling into place.
And until recently, there has been a close battle from Championship clubs to land the midfielder, and it will most likely be Queens Park Rangers who run with him. The club is also coached by a Superliga acquaintance, the former AaB coach Marti Cifuentes.
It seems to succeed if all goes well with the trip to England.
Agree with above that we've been crying out for a good, goal scoring no 8 for ages. Here's hoping this is true and that he fits the bill.

Thanks for the link as you say they were excited to be getting him but sound very pi**ed off that he's now possibly going to the Hoops.
Lots of mentions of 800k as a transfer fee and that we outbid them for a player with 6 months left on his contract, I don't think in our current circumstance we've outbid a transfer fee of 800k, sounds very unlikely.
Seems we have a new chief scout as well as Manager thanks Marti, you are the chosen one....

In Denmark a company (Silkeborg IF) must register expected future significant income. They have added about 7 million Danish kr to their expected income. Maybe they expect other sales aswell but thats where the figure of 800.000 comes from.

Thanks again interesting information, so that may well be the fee as opposed to outbidding Derby which was the implication in their thread.
If this is indicating that we actually have a transfer budget I'm glad to see we are using it sensibly, and that we have resisted the temptation to throw even more money at Willock just to get him to sign.

Stefan Teitur Thordarson is a sought-after gentleman, and on Saturday evening Tipsbladet could tell about negotiations with Derby and QPR about a transfer, but it seems in all probability that it is Preston from the same line who is running with him.
According to Tipsladet's information, the Icelandic national team player has decided to switch to Preston out of all the clubs that have made bids for him. The same information is reported by Silkeborg Sport.
According to Tipsbladet's information, the midfielder is scheduled to go to England already on Sunday, after which he will have to undergo a medical check-up and sign his contract before the transfer can become a reality.
The club from Søhøjlandet announced on Saturday evening that they are negotiating a sale of the goalscoring Icelander, and that they expect it to end up falling into place.
And so until the end there has been a close battle from several Championship clubs to land the midfielder, and it will in all probability be Preston who runs with him.
But first the signature must be put, and he must therefore have undergone a medical check beforehand.
Stefan Teitur Thordason has just half a year left on his contract with Silkeborg, which is why it is the last chance in this transfer window for them to score money on him.
It seems to be successful if all goes well with the trip to England
