So why would they decide to do that between now and then?

Surely you'd take your chances if you were Reading to stay up this season and budget for the EFL dosh and fight your way out of -12 next season?

Huddersfield a bit different as they look a bit dodgier down there but same principle sort of. I'd give myself a chance this season as they're still in the mix.

I get it that deadline came into play to stop the chicanery a few clubs did before like going into Admin at HT of the last game of the season so following season a fresh slate. However I thought they also introduced some rule about starting a season in Admin as well so you could get a double deduction?

I dunno......... All I know is it is a tragic state of affairs that these discussions come into play for us this season. A systemic failure of the club no matter how you look at it.

The difference is that Reading have already been found guilty & have a 6 point suspended deduction hanging over them for not following their business plan.

The mystery is why the EFL have not yet implemented this.

What are the odds on a surprise deduction for QPR?

Or could we argue we've already achieved it ourselves.

Does anyone know if Wigan's point deduction and possibly others as of tomorrow night will be added as a section to the end of season DVD to help get it up near the 10-minute mark?

Never knowingly right.

I'm beginning to think that Reading must have disputed that they hadn't followed their business plan, thus requiring a hearing before any penalty can be implemented.

That update from Huddersfield seems a bit odd - Hoyle has acquired the 75% he didn't own and then agreed to sell the club to a North American group - but they won't name the North American group and it's subject to 'legislative and governance procedures'.

Wonder why they haven't given the name of the buyers? And surprised that Hoyle must be taking a huge loss if the buyers are not taking on the clubs debt.

6. It has been agreed and I hereby order that the Club is sanctioned for the breach as follows:
6.1 The Club is to be immediately deducted 6 points in the 2021/22 Championship season.
6.2 The Club is also subject to a suspended sanction of 6 points to be deducted from its season
points total in Season 2021/22 (or Season 2022/23), on the first occasion on or before 30 June
2023 that:
i) the Club fails to file such documents as are required to be filed in accordance with the
provisions of Rule 2.2 of the P&S Rules by 1 March in the relevant Season(s);
2
ii) the Club breaches the Budget as more particularly described in paragraphs 19 and 21
of Appendix 1; or
iii) the Club is found to have committed (or admits) a further breach of the P&S Rules by
its P&S Calculation resulting in a loss that exceeds the Upper Loss Threshold as
applicable at the time of the submission in accordance with Rule 2.2,
the “Suspended Penalty”.

This was the original decision and it refers to the critical date for points deductions as being 30 June 2023.

Unless I am missing something, where does yesterday's date come from?
