It’s a good thing no-one warned Dave Sexton about this.

Unless Dave Mc is a long standing friend of NC, how on earth does he knows his "personality type"?

In any case many clubs, including us, have had successful shouters and quiet men at the helm, to say we can't accommodate different types of manger is just laughable.

Dave Sexton. Alec Stock, Neil Warnock, Gerry Francis, Ian Holloway - all different, all "successful".

Nothing personal - yes you're right of course, he definitely comes under the "successful" bracket.

It's not Critchleys fault;
I'd liken It to employing a carpenter/joiner and supplying said carpenter/joiner with a shed full of rusty and blunt carpenter/joiner tools and expecting him (the carpenter/joiner) to start making some cabinets quickly that look rather nice.
Something like that anyway.

I agree it’s not his fault and he needs time, I hope he gets time but, he has had the opportunity to look over the last 3+ yrs and it’s obvious that Dykes isn’t the answer, try something else!

If he had done any research before taking the job he would of surely known Willock was our best player and needs to start games regardless of form

Not writing him off but he's already under massive pressure with tough games coming up

I don't think Anybody who's been so way out of form as long as Willock has, should be automatically starting games. Willock was our best attacking player last season and this before each of his injuries, but not in the now quite a few games he has played since returning. We have a number of alternatives in his position who are around Willock's level these days.

Whether NC comes across as inspiring or otherwise is totally irrelevant. I haven’t been particularly inspired by his press conferences, but that is again irrelevant.

He isn’t going to be able to tun this shit show around overnight, but he has got a reputation for being pragmatic, so needs to be given the time to assess the situation and implement his own ideas.

If he can steady the ship and show some incremental improvements until the end of the season that will do for me. A shrewd bit of wheeling and dealing in January would be a good start. Nothing major, as our hands are tightly bound, but a good manager with an eye for a bargain and good connections in the game should be able to pull something out of the bag. He has probably seen enough now to have a good idea what he needs to change, although there are several players he has not seen out on the pitch yet.

Let’s give the man a chance, but don’t expect an overnight resurgence to our promotion chasing form. The entire club and its staff look to have been seriously chastened by the Beale debacle. We need time to reset and recover, not lose our shit if results don’t improve immediately.

No manager has ever won, drawn or lost a game in a press conference.

Enjoy your tea, but I think it's pretty clear now even Pep wouldn't get a tune out of these wasters
