Yes to the posts above me! A few years back, my family and I took such a view about the offerings on TV, that we decided to play board games. Turns out, it was a brilliant move, that is more entertaining than the TV.

Christmas TV on 17:49 - Dec 24 with 7150 views | stevec | Caught a section of planes, trains on Channel 5 this afternoon. They cut out all the dialogue in the car hire scene and butchered the Steve Martin getting picked up by his nuts scene. Crying out loud funny back in the day. Not any more apparently.

Yeh we did the same but then realised it was the pre watershed cut and stuck the DVD on instead. It’s weird the stuff them seem unsuitable in that film - they cut the Jamaican rum line in the motel, presumably because he does the accent! Just show it after 9pm if you’re going to show it. “Another couple of balls and an extra set of fingers” gets cut which is tantamount to vandalism.

They keep producing rubbish like Mrs browns boys or tv Christmas specials with Greg Wallace and his adventures of watching paint dry in a factory in grimsby. Then wonder why tv viewing figures are decreasing year on year.

Christmas TV on 20:51 - Dec 24 with 6709 views | colinallcars | TV lowers people's standards I feel. My brother-in-law, who is as thick as mince, watches TV all day every day. He has the opinion that if something's not on “telly”, it can't be any good.
Christmas TV on 20:51 - Dec 24 with 6710 views | ozexile | What's happened to Eastenders? Admittedly it was 20 odd years ago since I've been home for Christmas but that use to be on a lot earlier on the day. Now it's shifted to 9.30?

Going off on a tangent Ted, as mentioned in a completely different thead - I got my new Fender Player Strat today. Three tone sunburst, very well made. Easy to play even for a tenth rater like me. Good range of tones but perhaps not quite the glassy sound of my 70s model. Maybe I'll achieve that with a bit of fiddling around.

I've got the American Vintage 11 series which was bloody expensive; original 57 pups and a solid ash body in off white, It is extremely heavy but beautiful to look at and the playability is exceptional. I was strumming and riffing It today through my Fender Pro Junior vintage tweed (all valve) and then my Vox AC15C all valve (tube driven tremolo and reverb) amps; tone and volume, tone and volume keep fiddling with the tone and volume. I'm chuffed to bits for you mate. Hey Joe.

Guaranteed there'll be a massive barney or some kind of death or disaster. I know this not because I've watched it in the last several decades, but because I occasionally catch the trailers.

We actually stuck it on last year or year before having not watched for 20 years and wouldn’t you just know it Phil had fallen off the wagon and Sharon had been putting it about a bit.
