Kakay 17:09 - Sep 12 with 6358 views | Hunterhoop | Superb today defensively. My MoTM, closely followed by Wallace. Good positioning, won his headers, got blocks in, read it well, made good decisions. He’s really come on since lockdown. Fair play to the lad. He’s taking this opportunity and looks the part. Good on him.

Kakay on 17:14 - Sep 12 with 4946 views | essextaxiboy | He was brilliant , great strong tackling . I have to mention Wallace , I havnt been his greatest supporter but he was superb today, from the first minute to the last . If Manning goes we will need a young Left Back , but if Wallace carries on as today he wont give the shirt up easily .
Kakay on 17:22 - Sep 12 with 4868 views | A_B_4 | A great team performance today no doubt and Kakay certainly had a good game and contributed to that. For me he gets dragged inside too often which leaves real holes out wide for the opposition. That being said he’s very young, still learning and certainly looks to have a bright future ahead of him. Hopefully he can work on his positioning and have the confidence to trust his delivery into the box earlier / first time but if he keeps this up we wont be seeing much of Todd Kane this season....
Kakay on 17:31 - Sep 12 with 4778 views | HantsR | Agreed, my MOTM. Honourable mentions also to Wallace and Chair plus some super first half quick passing movements involving LTC and Amos deserving of praise.
Kakay on 17:38 - Sep 12 with 4717 views | Lblock | Has seized his chance and fair play to him One very tired moment in 89th which could’ve taken the gloss off and one dive in first half. Really pleased for him and us
| Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal |

I don’t think he was dragged too central at all. We played a back 4. When you defend, as a full back, you’re taught to defend on the narrower side and keep the danger outside you. If the oppo double up on you, you go even narrower to make it harder to get around the back. The reason he looked narrow was because BOS didn’t track back very well on numerous occasions and left him hanging, which meant he couldn’t risk going tight to the winger out wide and being done. I thought he did well not to sell himself, when I think someone like Kane or Manning would have.
Kakay on 17:42 - Sep 12 with 4680 views | HAYESBOY | I thought back when Schteve bombed him out after our dismal start that it was harsh. Hopefully we sign him to a long term deal. Has been fantastic since coming back.

It can be difficult to see the wider picture on a stream compared to being there live but for me he was clearly inside too often and had to chase back out wide countless times when they were breaking. I appreciate your comments regarding a back 4 and needing at times to come narrower but what I noticed was Kakay being too central even if it was only for my liking at least. I’ll happily watch the extended highlights Hunter when they’re released and take another look at it, and as you say he may have been covering for BOS or others each time but this isn’t something I have only noticed today. I thought it apparent in the final games last season - again that i only saw via a stream. Either way I still think he had a good game and is doing enough to keep Kane out of the team if nothing else. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

may have my facts wrong, but i believe the last match he had played for us pre-lockdown was when we got smashed 7-1 against wba schteve, being the absolute bungling idiot that he is, totally dropped him, which im sure a lot of young players would not have recovered from ... didnt play for rangers for nearly 2 calendar years, but now has really managed to take his chance

He played in the League Cup games against Bristol Rovers and Blackpool and the FA Cup game against Leeds after the West Brom hammering.

For me it was a couple of little headers he got just a tiny touch on when they swung a cross in. Both cases there was a man (or two) waiting with a free header 6 yards out if he has misjudged it. Good performance.
Kakay on 19:43 - Sep 12 with 4032 views | EmpireStateRanger | He’s also gotten a lot better going forward. Tidy with the ball and gets around players. Doesn’t have the crossing prowess of Manning, but he’s a much better defender than him. Thrilled with the way he’s playing.
Kakay on 19:45 - Sep 12 with 4010 views | Maggsinho | Kakay must be one of the biggest turnarounds we’ve had in some time, up until the post lockdown games is seen nothing from him to suggest he’d make it with us, I thought he’d be quietly released to have a career in League One or League Two. And now look at him, strong, skilled, determined, he’s been fantastic. I can only wonder what caused the turnaround, a new manager, maturity,, a determination to take his chance, etc?
Kakay on 19:56 - Sep 12 with 3920 views | Hastings_Hoops | Certainly helps to show Manning what he’s missing defensively if Wallace keeps this up for a few games and will hopefully show manning that he is dispensable if he pushes too hard on negotiations. Kakay is a breath of fresh air - back in April, who would have thought that he could be the next good thing to come from our promising batch of youngsters.

I suspect much of it down to our coaching through the system. Eze, BOS, Kakay, Chair, Manning. We haven't really had any players from our junior ranks that, given the opportunity, haven't established themselves in the first team for some time. I guess the jury's still out on Smythe and Niko, but we've been producing good youngsters regularly, it's something we shouldn't underestimate.

Smyth will make it. He looks effective when he comes on so, I suspect he will improve now he's with the first team. I am not sure Niko will, we need to see more of him.

Kakay on 09:02 - Sep 13 with 3018 views | gazza1 | I have been singing the praises about this lad for a long time now. He has a chance of becoming a proper QPR player who plays a lot of games. IMO he has got all the attributes for a full back in the game now, pace, power (so strong - you wouldnt want a 50/50 with him for sure), heading despite being small is good and gets up and down the line. Appears to have a right proper attitude as well. Good luck to him, the club should make sure he is rewarded with a decent contact for him and the club. One point though....sort ya hair out lad!!
Kakay on 11:16 - Sep 13 with 2789 views | DWQPR | I really hope that Kakay succeeds in establishing himself in the team for a long time to come for the main reason is that the lad has been with the club since the age of 8! Now that is proper coming through the system, the various ones at that. A real bona fide youth product.
