Coleman is doing a decent job at Accy...

Its all ok saying as a supporter that such n such person will be ideal but it is what the clubs board see is a fit and financially aswell.
God knows what the combined cost of sacking Steve Eyre, John Coleman, and finally Keith Hill as cost the club as that is now three sackings in a row.....

Some say Dale are not a sacking club...

Who ever it is, all I want is to walk out of the ground on a Saturday feeling we've had a good crack at winning the game. That's all. We might go down but we need the team to play with freedom for the last 11 games. I'd take us scoring and conceding loads for the remainder of the season just to be entertained. I've been in the Radcliffe and the Cem far too early far too often this season, before the end of halves. Like a 'No Fear' type of football... now there's irony, right there.

So, reading between the lines, Jose Mourinho is a no-go from you?

Gary Jones has done his badges and knows the club.
Definitely don't want Coleman or Nolan

Jonah would be a good but untested call.....

SoftLad would be lowering his standards to come back here, thank goodness. Best left at Accy.

In fact anyone with a bit of humility and a not having a head the size of Birkenhead!

I personally would have liked to have seen Gary Bowler in charge but that option has gone although he may be available in another couple of months!

I'm not sure about Hurst though. I know a lot of Grimsby fans at work and they cheered when he went to Shrewsbury.

Crap football and lots of friction off the pitch which sounds familiar.....

It doesn't have to be someone who's been on the managerial merryground already Jonah might be a good interim appointment with a defensive coach alongside him.

Also another point is the new manager must have the same ethos as hill about the youth system bringing players into the main squad.....

Dale can do without a manager coming in a puts a kybosh on the progress of players like Matheson Adshead Morley Wade...

Afterall they will bring much needed monies to the club in the future..

Jonah with an experienced mentor such as Ronnie Moore or Steve Parkin (if it went tits up at Bolton) would certainly bring a bit of drive and pride back in to the club.

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!

Absolutely. I would hope that when interviewing the club set out a list of pre-requisites that any Dale manager must uphold, principally the development of young players.

If* the club can attract Paul Hurst, then he should be the top of the list**

* it's a big IF
**if there is a list. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Paul Hurst took abt. 5 seasons on a very decent budget to get grimsby town out of the Conference.

Flowers would be my first pick. He's doing an incredible job down at Solihull at a club that, relative to their division, are very similar to ourselves. Surely he wouldn't exactly cost the earth, either?

Lincoln took a gamble on the Cowley brothers and that’s worked for them. Flowers might well be a good shout

Flicker, much as he is wanted by at least 1 director, will not be back for now. Would not shock me at all if we have sol Campbell lined up.

Personally Gary Jones with maybe holt/Dagnell/Bayliss, well anyone he gets on with and works well with him would be my preference.

Gary Brabin is a name I am surprised is not in the betting as well

Do not want Flitcroft back at any stage. We know what he’s about as a manager.

He wouldn’t want to come, he’ll be passing us on the way up.

His managerial record is pretty good tbf, yes he’s collected players a couple of times, but he wouldnt be able to do that here.

If he was available i’d consider him, but he isn’t.

My issues with an untried ex-player although it worked with Hill are that you are taking a gamble that they have the tactical knowledge, the man management skills and the contacts to do the job. Personally, I would rather have someone who has done the job years and knows the system inside out and maybe take on the ex-player as a number 2.
