We cannot compete in the Championship financially now without breaking rules compared to some of the money floating around. Seem to be developing our own players for once . | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Transfer window general thread on 15:21 - Aug 8 with 3258 views | 08olesen | Considering the amount of money which is being spent, even if if we were not in the shite with FFP, 20 million still wouldn't bring us to the level of Boro, Stoke and West Brom etc. They have some seriously high earners on their books. I think its good that we are not trying to play catch up with them because someone is going to get hammered by FFP eventually. They can't all go up. We just need to bring in a CB and maybe a RB on loan and i think we will stay up and try to push on and build a team.

We can't compete with PSV for an Australian CB We can't compete with Ipswich for a striker from Accrington We can't compete with Boro and others for Hugill But we can manage to bring in a full back and a centre back for the U23s We're shopping in Poundland, while other Championship clubs are involved in Supermarket Sweep.

Budget apart, I think there is another big disincentive to joining QPR - the recent bad publicity surrounding the club's record FFP fine. Whether that worry is real or simply perceived, I think it could very easily put off many potential permanent signings. So we may have to rely on what we can pick up in the loan market and wait for next summer for major changes.

Appears little chance we will sign anyone as either too expensive too high wages or they just do not want to come to LR......can only hope we do not sell anyone else in remaining days of the window.

I suppose it's part and parcel of being QPR but when we were spending money our scouting was nonexistent so we end up with whoever the agents wanted to shove down our throats. Now we have scouts identifying promising players we can't afford them and are easy pickings for other clubs to out bid is. Classic QPR.

I don't understand why. Surely he is only ever going to be a backup goalkeeper now in this league. Don't get me wrong I loved Camp when he was our player but much prefer a younger keeper in Ingram.

Now if we could just move Ingram and Cousins for the same amount we'd be in clover. But seriously this transaction must represent some kind of upper bar for selling clubs like us.
