Great goal but in no way better than or equal to Trevor's
Trev's was:- Just outside the box The ball was higher up He was is no way side on - his back was fully to goal The build up play far better We were playing with 10 men I think??? And Trev was wearing a lovely kit
I will never witness a better goal
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Yep Trevs goal reminds me of Trevor Francis goal against Charlton, which imho was better than Trevs as it was from a tighter angle. But no one has a video of that so, we cannot be sure :(

i don't think he was actually trying a bicycle kick; i think he was going for a header, and slipped. if you look closely, you will see what i mean. a total fluke of a goal, and should almost go down as an own goal, given the most obvious mistake it was.
It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

Nice to see St and Geavsie - a 53 year old Trevor Francis lol One of my favourite goals was in the Loft and went mental (look at the loft could you imagine that reaction to a goal in the League cup 3rd round now!) as always like to be beat Charlton. Got a bit tasty after the game from what I remember.
Another goal that in my head at least is up there with (both) Trev's was Simon Stainrods overhead kick v Cardiff in a 2-0 home win (I think) in 81/82

Okay now have seen it again, Sinclairs is better.
Still I would like to see the 10 man passing move that ended in Gallen scoring our second against West Brom in our 3-3 draw there.
Unfortunately I only have this clip of it which is 7 passes in and does not really show the full build up:

Roy Wegerle on par with Trevor Sinclair for me as makes fools out of Leeds and being 2-0 to win 2-3, great game.
"Stan work hard, could score goals in the air, and was complete team player. He headed balls off the line, and he had so much skill, balance, finesse and amazing touch. His mobility, that electrifying burst of 30 yards was exciting to watch"...Don Shanks.

I've watched Carroll's goal a few times now, and it seems to defy the laws of physics. The speed with which the ball leaves his foot doesn't seem to bear any relation to the speed of his foot prior to contact. It's almost as though he had an explosive charge hidden under the laces of his boot. It couldn't be, could it . . . ??

I said on text to friend today that if you could imagine Carroll and Sturridge both fit and motivated to play for England over a sustained period, it would be a real force to be reckoned with. I don't think I've got too much to worry about but with the modern game they would probably be split up in a 4-5-1 anyway
