Nottingham Forest Mulling Over Move For Saints Star Tuesday, 30th Jan 2024 12:19 Southampton could be the subject of a bid for one of their signings from the January 2023 transfer window, as Premier League Nottingham Forest mull over their options to strengthen their side to stay out of the relegation zone. According to sportwitness.co.uk Southampton midfielder Charly Alcaraz could be the subject of a bid from Nottingham Forest . They claim reports from Spain are saying that Alcaraz is on the radar of at least three clubs, one of which is Premier League Nottingham Forest. They add that " Forest see the midfielder as a ‘luxury reinforcement’ that would help bolster Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad and their chances of staying in the Premier League this season. They have already contacted the player’s camp but have not held talks with Southampton as yet." Lyon & Marseille are said to be the other two clubs, but Alcaraz would prefer the Premier League to France. However it also says that Saints could well refuse to sell and they could be right here, Russell Martin also sees Alcaraz as a "Luxury Reinforcement" himself and although he has not been a started much in the latter part of this season, he could well be vital in the next few months. For Southampton the gamble of keeping him could be worth it, his value is not going to drop in the summer unless Forest truly come in with a stupid offer and the player himself may well consider that he may have a better chance of being in the Premier League next season with Southampton than Nottingham Forest and be prepared to wait a month or four to find out.
