Fancy A Flutter On Saints To Win The Premier League ? A Look At The Odds Wednesday, 13th Nov 2013 15:12 This time last year if you had put money on Saints to win the Premier League you would have been odds on to be sectioned under the mental health act shortly after, but a year on things are different. It has to be said that if you fancy Saints chances of topping the pile when the season has finished you could make a few bob if it happens, despite their good start to the season Saints are still a long way behind the big six clubs in the odds tables, whilst man City still remain favourites to win the title in spite of their bad start, Saints odds are still very attractive. With Stan James you can still get 250/1 on us winning the Premier although most bookies vary from 100/1 to 150/1, that Stan James price is still available. In the grand sceme of things though the bookies although having brought in the odds quite significantly from the start of the season don't appear to be too bothered that they will have to pay out on us winning the League and it would still be a brave man who put much more than a tenner on it, but there is value to be had in the betting market on Saints on outcomes other than winning the title. Ladbrokes for instance will give 40/1 on a top 3 finish, although nowhere near 250/1 for winning the title, its still a realistic bet The same company will also give 18/1 on a top 4 finish, although it should be noted that others will offer 20/1. But as we drop down we get a view of just where the bookies see us ending up, a top 6 finish has Man City at 33/1 against, but could it be a good bet for Saints fans to put some cash on us to be in the top 6 at 4/1, a top 8 finish sees all of the big 6 clubs being out of the betting and Everton and Saints leading the table at 1/7 and 8/15 respectively, again the bookies feel fairly confident that we can at least hold on for 8th. For those that think we might not be able to hold on to even the top half of the table a good bet would be the 11/2 that Sky Bet are offering on a bottom half of the table finish, if we did fade badly in the second half of the season at least the pain would be eased with a bit of money back if you took up this bet. Not surprisingly Luis Suarez is the favourite to finish top scorer, but if you want your money on a Saints man then you can get 125/1 on Rickie Lambert at some bookie and a whopping 246/1 at betfair. Adam Lallana is around 250/1, Jay Rodriguez could be a good shout though, 500/1 at bet365. Not surprisingly in the next manager to leave post stakes, Mauriccio Pochettino is right at the bottom with 100/1 being offered for him to leave St Mary's. So there you go, a little snapshot of where the bookmakers see Saints season going. Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
