Recent reports have it that the Della Valle family, with vested interest in Fiorentina, are considering purchasing a minor share in an English League club in order to bring Della Valle's other business interes to the fore in the Biritish market. This other business is high fashion in leather goods and such.

Norwich City is one club mentioned, with the other being Southampton. Although talks are said to be put back until the summer, it is surprising just how littel interest this has elicited from Canaries' supporters.

Is it cynical to suggest that now that the team is doing alright for itself, running the club should be left solely to Delia and David McNally?

Whatever the outcome of the next seven games, Norwich City Football Claub is going to need a healthy cash investment. If the worst comes to the worst, and City suffer a similar fate as in 2002, there will be clubs coming in for our players, and most definitely Paul Lambert. So we will need cash to entice them to stay; to mount another all-out assault on the promotion trail.

If City is promoted, again, a cash investment will give more power to Paul Lambert strengthening his squad so Norwich do not yo-yo straight back down again.

Of course, lack of any news from the Carrow Road boardroom could well mean that talks are underway; current embargos mean that only rumour and conjecture can give this spectre solid form.

The hardest bit to fathom is why the mistakes of the last nine years can be brushed aside because of two seasons of success on the pitch.

It may be just speculation, but it might be worth the supporters sending signals that such investment is either welcome news or not.
