Aaron "Alby" Abraham Friday, 31st Dec 2010 09:28 Due to illness I missed out on the only piece of transfer news lately that was anything more than just a wild rumour on a wild rumour web site. Great news about Aaron Wilbraham. Took everybody by surprise, that one. Who'd a thought Norwich manager Paul Lambert would bring in players from a lower league? Lambert did say that he only wanted "hungry" players, those that would sweat blood for the chance to play, but Lambert also said that, while we were in with a shout of promotion we should mpress on, as it might not be as easy next season. Admittedly, there will be the transfer and agents fees, as well as a salary, but the suggestion is that this is all well within the Club's budgetry confines. What about the player himself? Well, at 6ft 3ins he has the height to provide a much-needed target man up front. At 31 Abraham will be quite informed about the tricks of the trade, and his 11st 5lbs would indicate that he has the attributes to be able to hold the ball up well. Described as being mindful of his surroundings and using his intelligence to exploit physical and mental fatigue, Abraham should fit nicely into that zone where City has proved sodeadly, the final minutes. With an already strong strike contingent, this signing probably means that one of our fringe players will be leaving. There have been rumours about Oli Johnson going to Swindon, but it is more likely that Cody McDonald may not play in the yellow and green again. Lambert has proved more than capable of spotting talent and what Lambert calls the ability to blend in with the rest of the dressing room. Here's hoping that another misplaced artisan can lift the team even higher.
