Watching Hearts this afternoon, it was good to see Frankie playing so confidently and assured. Didn't put a foot wrong as far as I could see. And great to see Frankie scored the winner in time added on.

I know Spartans are not nearly as good as Hearts, but you can only perform against the team in front of you. In fact Spartan's veteran goalie, Carswell, played a blinder, and was rightly awarded "Man of the Match", even though he was on the losing side.

Well Done Frankie!

Up the U's (and Hearts of course)

Wayne Rooney is now out of a job.

We probably couldn't afford him, and would we want him anyway?

So, Group F was known as the "group of death" in the first round - Germany, France, Portugal and Hungary with potential tournament winners coming from this group.

But none of them have made it to the quarter-finals.

Funny old game!!!

Great result for England last night, but we shouldn't forget Mark Cavendish's brilliant win in yesterday's stage of Le Tour de France either.

What's more nerve-wracking - watching the U's or watching the England batsmen in India?

F A Trophy Final 1992
at 16:34 6 Sep 2020

A forlorn hope but.....

The U's first Wembley appearance and we beat Whitton Albion 3-1. I drove down from Glasgow with my son where we were living, and back after the match.

From somewhere (I can't remember where), I acquired a video tape of the match and the events leading up to it, and the Town Hall celebration after. It had been put together by a local journalist.

At last our video tape player has given up the ghost, so I can't play the tape. I have been trying to find a DVD, I've tried the U's shop, ebay etc. , but no luck.

As a last resort, I can get the tape converted to DVD, but before I do, does anyone have any ideas where I might track down a DVD?

Thanks and Up the U's

La Patrouille and Red Arrows Fly-past.
at 12:59 18 Jun 2020

La Patrouille, the world's first aerobatic team and the Red Arrows are due to fly over Colchester at 5.07pm today. I assume that this has nothing to do with De Gaulle's speech of 80 years ago or Macron's visit, but is really a tribute to the fine sporting gentlemen of Colchester United, just minutes before the match v Exeter City is due to start.

Up the promotion chasing U's.

Take great care everyone and stay safe.

Card Hacking
at 17:39 17 May 2020

Gsy, my card was hacked yesterday, too with four fake withdrawals, all at the time I was making my donation to Daniel's cause, and I, too, am awaiting a new card. The donation went through OK, but both of us hacked on the same day? Is it just a coincidence?...
