Same old same old. Martin epitomises the definition of insanity. The board are a disgrace. My season ticket isn’t going to be used much more unless Martin is given the boot. What’s the point? |
| News Comment | Does Shea Charles Prove That Russell Martin's Player Judgement is Flawed at 10:54:08
Manager has to change, along with the ridiculous footballing philosophy of the board. Our possession game will never be good enough to survive in the Premier League. Martin is a one-trick pony that is getting found out every week. He has to go. If he doesn’t leave, it will be the supporters that do, with me at the front of the queue. Not spending a small fortune every season watching the garbage Martin is serving up. |

Nick, you’re being too diplomatic. Martin has to go. He has already arrogantly told all and sundry that he will not compromise on his ridiculous system of play. No point whatsoever in anyone at the club talking to him about it. That horse has well and truly bolted. I dislike Martin as much as I did Branfoot. He is ruining half-decent players and boring me to death with his football. |

Martin is a hindrance. It’s not even 1 step forward 2 steps back. It’s 1 step back 1 step back. He absolutely has to be sacked before he causes more damage. |

I don’t see how he’s bought himself time. Just delaying the inevitable after another 2 weeks wasted and defeat to Leicester. |

He really is an arrogant so and so. As the piece (well-written) says - he is part of the problem. We need a smart manager who will make the best of the players at his disposal. Not one that is wedded to a style of play come-what-may, regardless of the abilities of his squad. The man is most definitely not Russell Martin. I firmly believe a new manager can give us some bounce, in much the same way Bally did when he was appointed. Relegation does not have to be a formality, although it is if Martin stays. The board have to be man enough to make the change. |
| News Comment | Southampton Board Split On Russell Martin Situation at 20:50:51
My opinion of Sports Republic is deep pockets / tiny brains. Martin has to go. He will not turn it around and is too pig-headed to change his bullsh!t philosophy. Dragan is the money, if Ankersen won’t sack Martin, Dragan needs to sack both of them. To have Martin leading the side for another couple of games, we are just throwing points away. If it’s true that they want Corberan or Eustace, they have learnt nothing from their previous failed appointments. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Ipswich Town The Verdict at 11:51:15
We were architects of our own downfall again with our shape defending corners. Diaz actually won the corner that they scored from but we had nobody on the edge of the box for the loose ball. I thought the subs were poor. You mention Adam Armstrong, but he did nothing. Didn’t keep the ball or close down. We need an experienced manager. We are throwing points away and Saturday was no exception. |
