I've got my pensioner £10 Xmas bonus.
When it started in about 1973 it was called Ted's Tenner as Edward heath introduced it.
Back then it would have kept most people in beer for a week (maybe not me).
Now it's a pint of bitter and a bag of crisps.
Anyone clever enough to tell us how much it would be of it were increased in line with inflation ? |

I had a Royal Enfield Crusader Sports motorcycle once. I s'ppose that wouldn't be acceptable these days.
Next bike I had was a BSA…..Bloody Sore Arse I used to call it. |

I've just remembered a good 'un although many west Londoners might know it - James Thompson wrote the words to Rule Britannia in his local pub, The Dove along the river at Hammersmith. He used to row his boat from his home in Chiswick to The Dove. Lucky ESB hadn't been invented then. |

When he emigrated to the US from Poland, his actual name was Schmuel Goldfisz. The immigration officail misheard it as Samuel Goldfish which he remained for some years.
