I think the reality is that it's the end of the season. There are a number of jobs available, clubs want to move quickly to resolve contract issues and clubs will be talking to agents to sound out interest. Just as we did with Hammerby to secure Cifuentes in the first place, in fact we had pursued for a long period of time and he wanted to see out the season (or at least whilst there was any competiiton involved)when we made our move. I dont really see how this situation is any different. Especially as we have heard from multiple sources on forums and social media media and hints from the journalists that Marti and Nourry fell out some time ago and a parting of ways has been on the cards at the end of the season for months. Regardless as I've said elsewhere in the thread, the chances of him staying beyond this season whether we did well or not were always going to be very slim. |

No, that's irrelevant. You can rightly argue that we have squandered the opportunity afforded by premiership and parachute payments from 2011 and 2014. However, the reality is that P & S rules limit us, not because our owners won't invest but because they are not allowed to spend more than the allowed losses. Our ground and our ability to generate income is what puts us at a disadvantage. |

I might be wrong about this but I think I read that the season in League 1 gets counted in the FFP calculation for the rolling 3 years so on that basis they are likely to breach straight away |
 | Forum Reply | Sky Sports Breaking News at 17:09 27 Apr 2025
Why would the club know? Unless the other club or the agent have explicitly told them. The story is that another club have been speaking with his agents surely the source is more likely to be that club or Marti's agents. |

Always taken the view never sign a defender or a striker from a relegated team. They were relegated for a reason |
 | Forum Reply | Sky Sports Breaking News at 16:27 27 Apr 2025
Never expected him to do more than 2 seasons, a manager on the up we are a stepping stone as we should be. If we had been more successful this season he would be off. If we had been relegated he would have been off. The sweet spot for him staying would be promotion or a level of mediocrity where a bigger club with larger budgets dont want him and we are not so pissed as to sack him. Would have said the same in August. The difference with Beale is that he has always waited until the end of the season or near enough to move on |
 | Forum Reply | **BURNLEY MATCH THREAD** at 16:32 26 Apr 2025
Reality was Burnley were just on another level to us. There wingers were two to three yards quicker than our full backs, there centre mids were quicker than ours and we were passive because we could not get close. As good as Colback has been in the last few games, he was torrid first half. Dunne and Paal had mares. Dembele failed to stretch them at all and poor Kolli rarely had anyone within 20 yards of him. Gane was far too quick for Madsen. I dont think this was an effort thing it was a combo of set up, selection and Burnley being too good and free to play. It does drive me mad though if a player is fit enough for 45 minutes and they should be first choice, start them, dont leave it until half time !. Also Kolli cramping at 60 minutes tells you everything you need to know about our fitness levels ! |

I dont think he was ever going to stay beyond this year unless we were genuinely challenging and even then likely to have been poached. I suspect the next manager will not be anyone we have heard of, and will be a similar type of appointment |

Because just like Kelman he probably needs 50 + games of senior competitive football to develop. We all thought the Kelman extension last year was a bit strange, and its turned out to be master stroke. As disappointed as I will be to lose Marti if you had asked me last summer would he be leading us in the 25/26 I would have said no (not unless we had gotten promoted somehow). So it's no surprise he was always going to be poached or sacked. I always thought the reason Dunne had not signed was because he was waiting to see whether Marti was staying or not and I suspect will end up wherever Marti is, The fact he is incredibly likeable and a very good communicator makes it much harder, and tbh its not really in anyones interests to burn the house down on the way out. Suggestions are that he is top of the wanted list for West Brom |

I think in org terms this comes down to confusion about the RACI. Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed for the uninitiated. Responsible is the person or people doing the given activity. Accountable is the person that leads the strategy/structure and is ultimately held to account for the outcomes. Consulted participate in the decision making. In Williams case I would presume he is accountable. so the people responsible report into him. He is setting the overall structures and he is accountable for the results. Marti on the other hand is consulted because the activity impacts his outcomes. reading between the lines there is both a lack of accountability and consultation in this space. Williams should have an agreed target to have x availability at any given time, if he and his department fall below that threshold consistently then he has to be held to account for failing to meet it regardless as to whether he is remote or onsite. I suspect the unhappiness is that he is rightly being held to account by Marti and team but not by Nouri and the expectations of his colleagues is that if something is falling below standard he should be onsite for a period to deep dive and work out what needs to be changed. If in your own line of work a colleague is not taking accountability and that impacts the performance that you are accountable for and you are powerless to do anything about it, and your management won't do anything about it, it breeds unhappiness and conflict and you will look to leave as it reflects on you |

Probably because Swansea are the form team in the division over the last 10 and he did not want a tonking |
 | Forum Reply | Morgan Fox: Stick or twist? at 16:58 22 Apr 2025
He's 4th choice centre back, with Morrison coming through and can be considered a first teamer we should be letting Fox go and looking for a young LCB to be the next Morrison. I think he's cost us more points than he has saved so its time to say goodbye IMHO |

Madsen needs pace and runners ahead of him to hit or one touch passers around him. Marti often makes a really good point about its not just who you play in a given position but who you have around that position. Yesterday we had no forward runners until the subs, I get why he does not want to start with both Dembele and Madsen and Yang which would have left us wide open. I think he could have played Anderson wide right, Kolli on the left . We also badly missed Edwards in the centre back role supporting Ashby on the left and stepping into midfield and starting attacks, so the whole thing was disjointed. In his interview Marti said he would have liked to play Frey in the 9 and Kolli coming in from the left as we need at Preston but neither was fit enough |

It will be a poisoned chalice for whoever has to follow him, popular with fans and players alike you can all to easily see a situation where the next guy loses both pretty quickly unless they hit the ground running and the club sinks like a stone |

Got to give Swansea credit, the divisions form team outside of Burnley and it showed. Our lack of pace and set up played into their hands along with the late change which left us defending far too deep and unable to playout. Fox had an absolute stinker and Edwards struggled in Midfield. Even with the same starting eleven I think Madsen central, Yang up top and Kolli and Anderson wide might have worked better. Clearly Frey only had 45 mins in him. Probably a mistake to start Anderson but I suspect Marti does not trust us defensively with Dembele and Madsen on at the same time. |
 | Forum Reply | The Madsen rehabilitation thread at 19:12 21 Apr 2025
We had no outball, defence was way too deep, Kolli isolated and no one running in behind. Only once Dembele and Sutton were on were we able to stretch them and it was a peach of a through ball from Madsen. |
 | Forum Reply | Swansea Reflection at 19:09 21 Apr 2025
We were really disjointed for 70 minutes. it was only once we got Dembele and Sutton on that we had had both balance and pace. We looked like were really thrown by the late Varane change, Edwards and Varane in that team and we dont concede and go in at half time 0-0. Fox absolutely terrible. Ronnie had his worst game for us in midfield and we had no escape from their press. Was surprised he did not switch Kolli to left Yang up top Anderson right and Madson into the middle. As soon as we had pace we were back in the game. Ref was unbelievably bad for both teams! |

Colback at the right price is worth another 1 year. Cook same Anderson if he is cheap Dunne I think you give him the extra year he wants to sign the contract. Sign Saito Yang I'm convinced is an 18 month loan Strikers: Frey, Kolli, Kelman, Yang Celar if we can replace with pace and power I think I would want that option Sign Centre back (Edwards is either going back or going Prem) 2 x left back 1 x Right Back 1 x CM Release Fox, Paal |
