Anyone close to being a 92'er
at 11:21 30 May 2015

Cheating a bit here because there are some clubs I'm counting even though they've got new grounds I've not been to but I have been to 84 of the current 92 league clubs with a further 11 outside the leagues.

Any thoughts about Preston today?
at 09:55 24 May 2015

Got to say after what has happened over the last 12 months I think it's largely academic what happens to the Nobbers today. Obviously would love to see them lose for bragging rights but we are so far behind everyone at the moment it's irrelevant who's in our league and who's not. So good luck Swindon but if PNE go up then so be it.

Just think Norwich have a bit of momentum and I fancy them returning to the Prem - bit gutted it wasn't Brentford.

Did fans help make up Clark's mind?
at 11:41 11 May 2015

Just putting it out there and haven't really got a view one way or the other, but does anyone believe that Blackpool fans made Clark's mind up about going. Along with the decimation being caused by the Oyston's, are fans now putting managers and players off? Not saying we should lie down and take whatever gets thrown at us but clearly players not coming to the club and Clark going must be affected by what happened on the last day.

Two ways of looking at it. The first is carry on in this way and the club will slowly die and the Oyston's may consider selling at that point or the other is that we all have to unite, get behind the team but not the owners and at least give ourselves a chance. If nothing happens and one side or the other cracks I fear a whole generation will never see a decent level of football again at Blackpool.

Of course the O's have destroyed it but will we ever make anyone feel welcome again?

Best news of the season
at 11:32 9 May 2015

Am sorry, but Lee Clark was an absolute clown and whilst I share many fans feelings about the Oyston's, this is the best news that could have happened. There was already a dark cloud over next season and I, for one, was going nowhere near the place whilst Clark was in charge - at least this gives us some hope and I'll be there to see what happens when the new man arrives .. albeit when we play away #NAPM

KOKO and the 'old boys' network

Be interesting to see if he really does have mates at the FL!

This was from the Huddersfield examiner

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston will have no influence on the Football League ruling on his club’s abandoned Championship clash with Huddersfield Town — despite being a member of the group who will decide the result.

Oyston, the target of the pitch-invasion fans’ protest which halted the goalless game at Bloomfield Road after 48 minutes, is one of three-Championship representatives on the Football League Board.

He serves alongside Football League chairman Greg Clarke and chief executive Shaun Harvey, independent non-executive directors Richard Bowker and Debbie Jevans, fellow Championship representatives Andy Ambler (Millwall) and Keith Lamb (Middlesbrough), League I duo Andrew Cullen (MK Dons) and James Rodwell (Scunthorpe United) and League II representative Ian Lenagan (Oxford United).

The matter will be discussed at next Thursday’s Board meeting, but should he be present on May 14, Oyston will leave the room when it is dealt with.

“It’s not always the case that all 10 members are there, but should Karl be, common sense would prevail,” explained the Football League’s public affairs executive Nick Roberts.

Both clubs have been asked for their observations on Saturday’s events, which are also under investigation by the Football Association.

The League have ruled out a rematch and will rule on the result of the game at their next meeting.

The match was held up for more than an hour before being abandoned by referee Mick Russell.

While Blackpool are sure to finish bottom, being awarded three points would elevate Town, currently 16th, above neighbours Leeds United and into a final position of 15th.

There is a precedent within UEFA for awarding the ‘wronged’ side in abandonments forced by crowd problems a 3-0 victory.

While the League will rule on the result, matters relating to crowd behaviour come under the jurisdiction of the Football Association.

Oyston, 47, has been Blackpool chairman since 1999. He began his third separate spell as a League Board member when he was elected by fellow clubs in 2013.

We have looked better the last few weeks and if we can just cut out stupid mistakes I think we can at least earn a draw - go for an entertaining 2-2

Foolish to think Riga takes no blame
at 09:14 15 Feb 2015

Seems to me the other board has become so obsessed with blaming everything on the Oyston's that they can't see how poor Riga's appointments were over summer. Even looking at the strikers he brought in Zenjov, Miller and Ranger - all his choices - none were anywhere near what we needed. Not saying that Clark has done any better with his scatter gun approach but I bet 9/10 of our fans if they would have been asked to put together a squad in the time that Riga was given before last season could have done a better job. His obsession with foreign players and his inability to deal with the fact we didn't have any sort of fire power up front will be his legacy for me. (oh and making McMoan captain!)

Why we are such a mess ..
at 18:39 8 Feb 2015

Just watching the FL programme back ..

1st Goal - farcical in midfield. O'Hara, Perkins and someone actually falling over themselves trying to get the ball and then Clark ball watching rather than looking at where his man is

2nd Goal - Dunne done also and then Norwich had 4 players in our box and we had 9 including the keeper - we could have had 20 in there and they'd still have been rubbish

3rd Goal - Clarke shouldn't be sticking a boot in on their player - woeful defending

4th Goal - just a good goal

For the first three who was wandering aimlessly and effectively around- Perkins! He has to be dropped along with Dunne and Clarke.

Shame the BBC have no balls re: FA Cup
at 20:48 2 Jan 2015

Liverpool and Arsenal as their two weekend games - how predictable! Thought that the BBC didn't need to chase ratings. Surely an opportunity to show teams that rarely get much TV coverage.

The end of Jonny Foreigner?
at 09:28 9 Dec 2014

Am just thinking about whether Riga will have put both Lee Clark and Karl Oyston off bringing in foreign players in the future. We've always had some problems - Grandin to name but one - but I think this recent experience will dissuade both manager and Chairman in the future. Is that such a bad thing for a club like Blackpool. Fine for the Watford's of this world who are 10 mins from the bright lights of London but when our lights only come on for 2 months of the year is it best to buy British?

Some good news!
at 10:45 25 Oct 2014

(although doesn't mean we won't have our annual 3rd round exit!!)

FA Cup football is returning to BBC television this season after the broadcaster made a new four-year deal with BT Sport.

16 live matches will air on TV, while BBC Radio 5Live and local radio will broadcast live commentaries.

All the goals of the competition will be available to watch on the BBC Sport website.

Coverage starts this Monday, October 27 with Mark Chapman presenting the first round FA Cup draw live from St George's Park.

The draw will be shown on BBC Two and broadcast on 5Live at 7pm.
