Have to agree with Leon Jeanne. But Todd Kane worth a mention. Never recovered from that interview he gave to RGeneration three years ago. Now playing for Ebbsfleet United. |

The owners are the board, with the addition of Lee Hoos: https://www.qpr.co.uk/club/staff-directory Not sure what LH might have done to upset Marti. Perhaps he voted for Trump Obviously no mention of Nourry, but I wouldn't read too much into that. It's the board who ultimately decide if Marti stays or goes. |
| Forum Reply | Mark Warburton interview at 12:25 18 Nov 2024
And let's not forget that Warburton likes to sign his former players! Which manager would be comfortable with a changing room full of the DoF's favourites? And while it's unfair to compare Warburton to Harry Redknapp, we shouldn't forget that HR became Sporting Director at Pompey in 2001 and was managing the team eight months later! Being on the spot gives a huge advantage if a position becomes vacant. Given Warburton's history here I think most managers would feel undermined if he came in as DoF. And if the chance arose I don't think he would be able to resist returning to the dugout. So, much as I like him and regretted him going, I think it would be best for all concerned to leave the past alone. But this is QPR, so he'll probably be back before Christmas! Closely followed by Moses and Andre Gray in the January sales. [Post edited 19 Nov 0:42]

| Forum Reply | Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out at 15:45 13 Nov 2024
Given his age and experience, I think more than six months would be excessive. I always assumed Hoos was kept onboard partly to mentor Nourry, but also in case Nourry didn't work out and a stop gap was needed at short notice. But Hoos cited family reasons for stepping back, and he might be unwilling to be CEO again, even on an interim basis. And if Hoos were reluctant to be CEO again, that might make Nourry very difficult to shift. |

The CEO is the most important and powerful individual at any organisation on a day-to-day basis. As such their employment contracts usually come with lengthy notice periods. I would be very surprised if his notice period was less than three months. |

If I recall correctly, the owners did say at the September 2023 Fans Forum that they had been "too open" in the past and would be doing things differently. I don't think anyone asked exactly what that would mean. I guess we know now! Clearly things have gone too far the other way and risks losing the goodwill of the fans (not to mention our small army of journalists, podders, bloggers, poets, musicians, performance artists, and god knows what else). Clearly the current policy is not fit for purpose. Alienating/dismissing/patronising the fans when you're bottom of the table isn't a smart move. And you shouldn't need a degree from Oxford to realise that! The club needs to find a better balance for managing its information. Otherwise Uncle Albert's next visit to Loftus Road will be in a Walsall shirt! |

You're worried he has Freyzen up!? Perhaps his joints are made from Toblerone. That could be a bit clunky! [Post edited 29 Aug 21:06]

"Frey seizes up in the cold weather" Frey's Swiss. If he can't take the cold we might need a closer look at his passport! And we're all forgetting that Jimmy "Write the theme tune, Sing the theme tune" Dunne could probably do a passable job up there if asked. |
| Forum Reply | Eze release clause at 14:18 19 Aug 2024
A release clause is just a sale price at which a club is willing to sell a player. If a potential buyer makes an offer matching the release clause it means that buying club then has permission to talk to the player to offer terms. But it doesn't automatically mean the player has to be sold: 1. The player might be happy where he is and refuse to leave. 2. The selling club might decide they would rather keep the player than have the transfer fee. In which case they could offer the player a new contract on better terms. The release clause gives the player bargaining power. But it doesn't automatically mean he gets sold. |
| Forum Reply | Chair - what's the story? at 01:34 19 Aug 2024
Leeds have been offloading players all summer to pull their finances into shape. It's no secret they're desperate for a playmaker. So desperate they've been using Piroe as their "10". I wouldn't be surprised if Chair is a player they have been looking hard at. Whether Leeds can meet our valuation, or whether Chair would even want to go there are they key questions. |

"I think I’m right in saying the last manager to be poached from us was Jim Smith" Ahem - Mick Beale! Admittedly he couldn't have been more blatant if he'd been putting cards in Govan phone boxes promising "Cheeky Cockney will tickle your PowerPoints" But they did pay to take him off our hands! |

Can you give some context on the percentiles. I get that it shows how he ranks to other players. But who exactly is he being compared to here? Teammates? La Liga players? The universe? The West London Ladies Hockey League?? |

| Forum Reply | Potential update on Illias Chair... at 22:15 20 Jun 2024
There is a lot I don't understand about this case. But what little we do "know" seems to come from rough and ready translations of foreign news reports. And neither newspapers nor online translators are exactly renowned for their accuracy. Common sense would suggest that if this really were a serious assault with a rock, in France, resulting in a skull fracture then it wouldn't take four years to reach court in another country, Chair wouldn't have been advised that he didn't need to attend court, and the prosecution wouldn't be recommending community service. AND, even our basket case of a club would have hotshot lawyers swarming all over it if they thought there was even a chance their prize asset could end up doing le porridge! I was basing that on what he has done in his career so far. He hasn't been afraid of going to new countries to get the experience. But you are probably right. Now that he is here in England it might take something big to tempt him away. Who knows, Bayern Munich might have another vacancy in twelve months time. |

I like Marti. Who doesn't? Lots of fans at rival clubs are casting envious eyes at our shiny new manager. But he has had less than one season with us. And he hasn't stayed in any of his jobs for more than two years, so far. Any Championship club with a vacancy to fill has Steve Cooper, Paul Heckingbottom, Liam Rosenior and Gary Rowett to choose from. All four are out of work, and all four have achieved more in the Championship than Marti. Any ambitious Championship club willing to trigger a release clause would almost certainly have Carlos Corberan top of their list for Santa. Not to mention Danny Rohl. I doubt that Marti will leave us for another Championship club before the start of next season. Although that's not to say he wouldn't be tempted by a job in another country if the opportunity was there. |

You can make deals and announce them any time you like. There's nothing underhand about it, provided you're not tapping up players who are under contract. Rotherham have already been busy with their keeper off to Stoke and several new signings already announced. The transfer window exists for registration of players. No deal is complete until the registration is done. I would be amazed if we haven't identified a few targets and already made a few approaches. And I would be just as amazed if we haven't been negotiating with some of the clubs being linked to JCS. |

Kompany was being talked of as a future Man City manager from the minute he quit playing. Eyebrows were raised when he joined Burnley from Anderlecht because he hadn't pulled up any trees over there. Eyebrows are now giving it the full Ancelotti with him heading for Bayern. But what would another season in the Championship do for his development? He won it the last time, and he can't improve on that. And who needs an agent when you've got City pulling strings for you and steering your career! |
