Oh, and I work for a company that regularly sends Phishing messages to the staff as a test and they force the users to do mandatory online security "courses" (typically 5-10 minutes long via a cartoon/animated presentation)

...and a few of our machines are still down.

I spend a chunk of my time reading through a US Tech/science board and the computer/network geeks have been warning of this for a number of years.

A tiny portion of companies pay sufficiently for their tech and tech support. Additionally even these companies can suffer from the tech they buy in being not fully costed to be cyber-secure...or even in some cases the tech is based upon some item of freeware which is being updated by enthusiasts!!!!


Hence the cartoon following which has been around for a number of years...

No radical action required at all.

1. Recruit more officers - the Tories have cut the number of officers.
2. Invest more money in local policing and "social" services - the difficult one with the current state of the coffers of UK PLC.

These reduce the problems at source and if some scrote or anarchist chances their arm then riot police do their thing.

Admittedly none of these are easy in the current financial climate but throwing your hands up in the air is pointless.

Aye, I'm aware of that and a few years back I posted on one of the boards about it. When Visa, Mastercard and the rest force everyone into their system not only do they get a cut of everything they also sell on your data to the data brokers.
