So very, very sad. Derek was my very first contact with the Dale - in fact he knew me from when I was born and our families grew up together before our move to the east coast. On drives over I'd meet up to say hello at matches on Tuesdays or Saturdays but I'm sure he thought I was mad clocking up round-trips of 230 miles to come and see the Dale. Strangely, I kept their Xmas card up on the side this year, sort of anticipating it might be a last. |

This passing out from the back hasn't worked and won't work at Dale in a division/s full of clubs like the Bradfords, the Mansfields etc. They're usually packed with much stronger/bigger players who have clear game-plans and generally win more than not. I think the club should perhaps be interested to get some pointers from Steve Whitehall's son Danny on his experiences in the National League with Eastleigh - because, unless some miracle happens we know deep down where we're going - as I'm sure he would have some very good advice. Ironically Danny was on Dale's books but seem to think he was released and never signed pro. |

I got the impression that he was one who wasn't that settled up north - might be wrong. Perhaps an expection on really doing something....and then he got injured...and then we never really heard a lot more apart from also being a higher-up wage at the club. Half of that wage is savings on the £1M hole in the hope we might get some recompensation on what we paid if he signs elsewhere? |

Hang on FFS! He's a 17 year old 1st year scholar making his debut at pro level. Something he and his family should be so very rightly proud of. Your comment should perhaps be directed at a lot of the extremely poor showing that came before him today. |

King Prawn style. Orient look at least a division above (which they are) but we look so shell-shocked. |

Well, can't say they're not up for it tonight! |

Might be to do with appearance money; actually going onto the pitch as opposed to just remaining on the bench. |

So, all that money, what £500k, has had little bearing on drainage. Know some might add how much rain there's been but surely these sorts of postponement should have been eradicated by now? |

Unfortunately so far looking like we're playing a team a division and a half above - which we are. Break-downs in passing in the final third needs to be addressed 2nd half. |

Interesting thread but as some have pointed out; it's at all clubs. However the psychology behind why some folk are more easily wound up and therefore likely to criticise 'might' be explained by the following I read many years ago...and is so true. "The way we feel about ourselves is the way we feel about others. If we feel good about ourselves, we feel good about others. If we feel bad about ourselves, we feel bad about others". In other words there can be some mightily "baggaged" people around and some of them come to football. You can learn more about them than what they shout out about. |
