I don't do gambling but from what I hear we are (inexplicably) still favourites to get promoted so therefore our seasons total points market will reflect that and therefore selling our seasons points total must be an absolutely great bet or have I missed something? |

With what we have now somewhere between 15th - 20th.
Even if we get players in its too late to build a team for the first few games and if Barton stays his disruption factor will drag us down. So even with some good players in I can't see it being possible to make the play-offs. I fear another thrashing in our first game of the season.
Unless things change in a massive way Harry will be gone by January. He will be able justifiably to claim that the club were prepared to spend to make the bad buys in Warnock's last window and all of Hughes's, but weren't prepared to pay the price to get rid of them quickly enough so they could be replaced by the right sort of players to build into a team. |  |

So I am with you.
- bosingwa, cisse, gone. Add Chris Samba, Cesar, Jamie to that. Hopefully Ji park goes too. Massive salary purge there.
- in: Dunne and Simpson. Hopefully Harry gets Adam Smith or Danny Rose.
Henry, with a fit Faurlin, cover from Derry plus Mbia, end result hopefully a very competent non porous defensive 6 man unit.
Upfront; Junior just might turn a corner. sWP could look very good in this division. Andy Johnson will excel here with good a supply of passes. If Remy's stays it's in the bag. Remy's and AJ might be a solid pairing. I see BZ in a part time role. Key is a solid midfield with good passing.

Gidday. Virgin poster here. Like most Kiwis i played rugby all my life and thought "soccer" was for homos. Saw my first ever football match 1995. Mid-week game v tottenham and a flatmate dragged me along to Loftus Road. Thought it would be shit but oh well something to tick off the list on my O.E.
We lucked in and got seats so close I could almost touch the South Africa road/Loft corner flag. The noise, singing, atmosphere was like nothing I'd ever heard at a rugby match, proper hair on the back of the neck stuff for me. (Think i almost got a wee chubby on)
Very early in the piece a couple of theirs that had snuck into the Lower loft expressed their pleasure at something or other Spurs did and were given their pedigree in no uncertain terms and a couple of slaps for good measure. One irate R, bless 'im, had to get out of his seat and march several rows to hang one on these dickheads. I'm like.. "phuck me this is mental!"
Best of all was the cops saw it all and realising what a pair of spankers these two were, took their time strollin down to sort it out. The rangers fans got a tut tut and the Spurs supporters got tossed out. Brilliant. That was me sold!! been a QPR fan ever since. We blew a 2 nil lead and lost 3-2 that night so i can't say the footballing gods didn't warn me against following the Hoops but something told me this was the team for me.
I've been back in NZ for 10 years now. Spent 7 years in London, loved it, and yeah the last couple of seasons have been torturous at times BUT those of you who can go to Loftus Road are LUCKY!!!!. I would give my left one for just one more sat lunchtime session and a charge up at the Bushranger before headin off to sing me heart out in R block. i miss it. Sometimes when I'm really pissed i let out a hopeful "C'mon you super hooops.. ..then i stand there like the last moose on earth waiting for a reply to his forlorn mating call.... but the "sahhhhhhhh" never comes.
Enough moanin about this and that already. Chris'sakes season hasn't kicked off yet fella's, and fellesses. Get behind the boys, whoever they are, if they're wearin hoops they're ours. (Boswanka and Barton excluded)
This season we will finish........ at Barnsley on Sat 3rd of May (badoom shish!)

Impossible to say until early September once the window's closed really. As it stands the likeliest best case scenario is emulating the West Ham side from a few years ago - solid, unspectacular, but hopefully plugging away for a play-off spot. Worst case is Wolves of course. |  | | |

Derry was on the radio recently saying the thing you need in that division is togetherness and team spirit.
Given that we have neither of those and have a squad of players either looking for the exit or looking only toward their next pay packet, I think some bookies odds of 40-1 are extremely generous on us being relegated.

There's been too much tension on this board over the past few days so I'm going to suggest that we grow our hair, wear sandals and live in a commune on Shepherds Bush Green.
The fact is that most of us know zippo. I seem to remember a huge amount of positivity when we signed the likes of Granero and Bosingwa. Equally, there were mutterings on this board about a mid table finish (confortably) when HR took over. So we'll have to wait and see what happens next Sat...
