Where Are they now? on 12:38 - Feb 9 by bosh67 | Striker game. Push Bobby Zamora's head down and he kicks the ball. Then he limps off. So life like. |
I used to have the swanky World Cup edition, complete with floodlights (which were rubbish - the backlights from four digital watches would've produced stronger light) and a scoreboard (not great either). I don't remember the process by which it vanished from my bedroom but my dad hates clutter so I think it went in one of his Draconian clear-outs. However, a few years ago, I bought a set like the one in your pic with the idea of playing it with my nephew at Christmas and it has been a huge hit. Relatives of all ages have joined in and have had a hoot. My nephew goes bananas when he scores, he runs a lap of honour round the living room. The only downside is that two of my “strikers” have sustained serious leg injuries and had to be glued and pinned. Not sure if their names are Andy and Bobby…. RFA

Where Are they now? on 12:05 - Feb 11 with 1394 views | Walnut | To bring two memories together, the beardy whiffy bloke was opposite me on a footy special coming back from Wrexham or Shrewsbury. When we stopped at Wolverhampton to change engines, he leapt out for a football pink then proceeded to tell me the context of every scoreline that day. I should have feigned being asleep but just nodded at every factoid he dealt me

That's right Zico, had perforations and were orange I think. When I think of the things I CAN'T remember these days, my recollection of the Golden Goal era is quite sad!

Think i remember the guy with the carrier bag. I was only young and got stuck talking to him at an away pre season game at pompey. Think he had done the rounds and everyone shunned him. Some great memories. My dad giving the turnstyle guy a pound note then bunking me over. Mr shaky the bloke who served the bovril in ellersie rd who would always spill most of it by the time he got the so you would send him back over and over for a top up. His hands must have raw. Being able to jump over the wall and run along the touchline to our seat without dear of being arrested.
