Read the article once again. Remember the name of the Russian club involved. Then look up Chris Samba's transfer history from around the same time as Chelsea's dealings with that club.

Sadly i think most clubs in the top division are iffy, but Chelsea were off the scale.

I understand current owners saying they should not be penalised for past owners doings so simply strip the club of titles it ‘won’ during that time. It happened to Juventus.

Juventus were also automatically relegated.

There is a strong precedent here but I suspect this won't happen. RO was forced to sell because of the war and the people buying in inherited his doings, so I suspect that would be a strong factor in not 'prosecuting' the current owners.

Never knowingly right.

The new owners aren't being penalised. The club is. There is a difference.

The only real just outcome for this lot would be to have all the silverware they stole wiped from their record but of course we all know this won,t happen. Because it would expose the FA and the Premier league to be as corrupt as the teams who are flouting the rules. Throw enough money the way of certain people in FIFA , the FA or Prem league and the problem goes away. Sadly a reflection of the society we live in.

Luton Town got a 10 point deduction for "financial irregularities" that were discovered and reported by their new owners:

"Remember to listen to me but look at her. Don't get it the wrong way round. That would be hideous."

So if the current owners of North Battersea feel that they shouldn’t be penalised but at the same time are negotiating with the FA about getting a fine instead, then they are still be penalised. A fine is a penalty. They should be treated like any other club irrespective of who was in charge at the time when the crimes were committed.

This bunch have got away with PSR over the last few days as the FA allowed the sale of the women’s team (to themselves) and the hostels/BnB’s they own (to themselves), to be included in the accounts. Totally farcical. I just hope that a few more are caught taking drugs like Mudryk (£88million) wasted, and also Nkunku (£52million), who wants out. Too many egos in the squad to make it successful.

nothing will happen ... it's depressing but they have been completley dodgy since Master Bates bought the club for £1 back in the day.

The fact teams like Chelsea get away with a relative slap on the wrist whilst the football authorities were so laid back about fining QPR £42 million is quite mind numbing.

You’d think the media might question what’s going on in relation to our punishment but nobody ever does.

I really believe that fanbases that haven’t been relegated in generations would really benefit from a dose of league football.

Rotherham doesn’t care about your feelings.

The whole thing stinks. You can guarantee that the government and the authorities knew exactly what was going on prior to Russia invading Ukraine. Money talks.....

This is much bigger than football. We all thought Abramovich was dodgy as fck, now surprisingly it turns out he's as dodgy as fck. But because money talks he was tolerated, enabled and protected while he gaily laundered money and ripped off not only the Russian people but all of us too. £1 billion estimated in evaded UK taxes. Not to mention supporting Putin's bloody regime.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

The Ch*ls** players that won stuff under Abramovic should be invited to a televised presentation ceremony in the manner of ‘This is your life’ in honour of their achievements. Get all the gang together with their medals: Lamps, Drogs, Bosingwa, SWP, etc etc and of course the man who would be - parking in a disabled bay.

After being told their medals are being legally confiscated by HMRC we then have split screen images of their shocked and angry gobs as their shiny awards are melted down to a molten silvery hot gloop. The resulting metal is then presented to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, for use as ammunition in the continuing fight against Russia.

I think the players from the Abramovich era should ask how they feel that their wages were paid for by tax evasion. Then asked to justify their position to people whose operations were cancelled, kids who were educated in schools that needed rebuilding and people who had their benefits cut etc. Cos that's who they robbed from.

They'll just say they were employees, not their responsibility how the club operated.

Between us fans, a former QPR owner is currently the record holder for largest fine for iffy tax affairs!
