Cifuentes Leaving the Club 08:20 - Dec 16 with 7178 views | numptydumpty | Marti's stock has been dented a little with the start to the season, we have had, but with both Wolves and Southampton recently sacking their managers, would a relegation threatened club take a punt on Marti. To be fair, I think a lot of reading between the lines, is included in a great deal of managerial appointments. I think someone with the profile of a Cifuentes type manager, would be a better bet than a Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard profile. You can only work with the tools you have at your disposal and Cifuentes has done well considering. Appreciate it's almost certainly not going to happen, but there have definitely been much worse appointments in the premier league in recent years.

Its not getting altered though despite the uproar it caused. Not even a ? added or like someone said "thoughts on Marti Leaving to fulfil his dream of PL" There is zero chance he will get either Wolves or Southampton IMO they are both desperate to survive and their fans will demand a big name

Saving a team from relegation in the Championship is different from saving one from relegation in the Premier League. Surely, Southampton need someone with a track record in the PL? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Cifuentes Leaving the Club on 08:49 - Dec 16 by slmrstid | The only way Championship managers get jobs in the Premier League these days seems to be by getting promoted there. They'll both appoint someone from either the continent, or someone who has already worked in the top flight and is out of work. When was the last time a second tier manager left a job to go the top flight? Beale had a go, but did he really turn Wolves down or did they decide against him and he used it to try and get some self-promo PR, given what we've learned about him since? |
Nathan Jones going to Southampton, which..... worked out well for all involved.

Its called accountability. If the same people are going to keep throwing grenades into the room then don’t be surprised when they’re taken to task over it.

Cifuentes Leaving the Club on 10:49 - Dec 16 by dm97 | Worked under Hassenhutl at Saints too if I’m not mistaken. But as said above, and in many Lotforwords pieces over the last few years, you don’t go from SW/QPR mid/lower table to the prem. The biggest threat to us, SW, B’burn etc in managerial terms is a parachute payment club plus probably Sunderland getting rid/ losing their manager and taking them. Rohl definitely the vogue option at the moment |
Yeah, he's higher profile than Marti, helped no doubt by being on the telly during the World Cup. Jeez, I reckon I'd look like Rinus Michels in comparison with Eni Aluko.

I always stand by everything I write, so what's your (moralising) point? And, once again, if you read all my posts since I started writing for this site, only a small number could be construed as inflammatory/deliberately provocative - which is part of the point of a discussion board anyway! In fact, my rhetoric is actually often quite moderate compared to, say, Clive's (excellent) reports, and that of some others here. For my part, I try respond to people's posts and not the people. I really don't care who writes what, don't usually even notice, and have said so more than once. If you think I need to take 'accountability', whatever that means, 'caricature' and 'scapegoat' seem to be the words for you to meditate on!

My god, someone is touchy and defensive!! And again with the snide jibes. I wasn't even talking about you (not everything is about you). You said "it's not what's said but who's saying it that matters" and I was generalising a point that if people deliberately behave in a certain way then they, and only they, are accountable and shouldn't be surprised if people take them to task over it. The issue isn't with others, it's with them.
