I'm just hoping to be able to get to the game tomorrow, and more importantly get home again. 60mph winds due down here in Littlehampton from tonight, and all the way through tomorrow
I always struggle with the fact that that people who are most vocal re immigration are also the most vocal re mitigations to climate change like they dont see that the latter will drive the former. But then of course you stop and realise that the UK is on the same Latitude as Alaska, Canada, Sweden and Siberia and if the ice sheets do melt and that cold water stops the Atlantic current or pushes it south, then it will be so bloody cold that no one will want to come here anyway and it all makes a bit more sense.
Perhaps if we stopped selling arms to the countries that are creating these refugees you wouldn't have to worry about them coming to the UK.

The honest answer to increased flooding is that there are a number of causes, both natural and man-made. We are in an era of increased rainfall. We are creating more and more impermeable surfaces - buildings, roads, etc. We are building on flood plains. Agricultural techniques have changed. Environmental management of water courses can also accentuate flooding. Some of these things we can definitely control... I think I'll add that while I have some scepticism about the causes of aspects of climate change, I want less pollutants in this world and more flora and fauna, so do support some, if not all, green initiatives. While watching the money trail.
Important games around us league-wise already postponed tomorrow. Cardiff, Plymouth. Portsmouth will be desperate to cling on (given recent circumstances) but will do well to IMHmeteorogicalO.

I was watching Heathrow in the last bit of windy weather we had and this was the stand out couple of minutes (though a lot of the comments underneath this clip were more focused on whether he was wearing a wig )

When I flew to Auckland from San Francisco for the cricket in 2023 it was during the hurricane/typhoon that hit the North Island the day before,but most flights were being diverted to Sydney,or turning back halfway across the pacific. I think we landed on one wheel as the wind was still so strong.

A fortnight ago a mate was on a much delayed flight (suspect package) from Gatwick to Bilbao. (I was due out the next day) He spent a lot of his limbo time drinking. Finally on a flight and approaching Bilbao they couldn’t land due to weather. The pilot made two attempts. Apparently the turbulence was bad with a lot of worried and wailing people on the plane. During the flight my pal got chatting with some blokes from a rugby team - also drinking. At the second attempt to land he got most of the team to join in with an “Oooooooooohhhh” and then when the pilot failed to land and instead gained altitude they all chanted, “… you’re shît aaaaaaaaargh!” Eventually they flew to Barcelona and landed … and all lived happily ever after.

Had to say….. absolutely bang on!!!
In terms of pollution my main focus and irk is rubbish and what we’ve done to the seas The oil industry was the worst with horrendous spills but they’re dwarfed now by the actions of huge nations and everyday people chucking all sorts of shit, and actual shit, into waterways and oceans. Single use plastic is a sustainability drive I’m on board with — something that should be recycled by law across the globe and micro plastic contaminants in the sea are at disgusting levels.
The oil, coal and gas industries are cleaner than ever with nuclear even cleaner; no idea why people can’t see that but the majority are blinded by the great climate lie. Latest nuts from Milliband and his mob is the banning of gas boilers from 2030 onwards. As a great man once said, “my word”!!! Where will this madness end.
Good luck to any sensible adults who can make decisions for themselves next day or so. I’m sure it’s a bit wet n windy (you know…..Winter) you can make the right choice; whereas if it actually is a full on cyclone you’ll do the same as well. If you see a job lot of timber being delivered to Noah then have a word…..
