I bet Trump will be far better at sorting immigration than any of our wishy-washy politicians.
The American people's number top priorities were immigration & the economy he will sort both out.
Amazing how Black / Latino Americans also voted for Trump, probably wanting what is best for their country like decent folk of any colour in our country.
There was a polling bloke being interviewed on the Beeb last night and he was saying that a lot of these Latino folks come from socialist hell holes like Cuba or Venezuela and want nothing to do with anything that remotely resembles what they have thankfully escaped.
As much as I wish he hadn’t won, it’s not disgraceful. It’s democracy doing what it does so they got what they voted for. Just like we did!
I get what you are saying, but he does not concede elections and was stacking institutions with people who would help him steal the 2020 election. He failed that time but now has the ability to finish the job. The American electorate knew all of this and decided that the price of gas was more important than liberal democracy, that is what is disgraceful.
It is time for the rest of the west to wake up and realise that America is no longer our ally on the most basic and fundamental characteristic of our societies, and if we value it ourselves it is time to gear up and defend it when the time comes.

Also a lot of those will be Catholic for whom the Republican stance on abortian will be very appealing.

The Republicans have done a very good job of painting the "socialism" of the Democrats to the Latinos even though it's mainly guff.
I'd love to see what they'd make of Corbyn.

Bernie Sanders has long been the left wing Boogeyman to the American electorates, and by European standards he's basically a Lib Dem. The Dems are Centre Right, and the current GOP are Reform.
One of the only things I agree with Trump on is NATO. The other countries involved have spent decades skimping on their obligations and hiding behind US Muscle. It's about time they all stepped up and supported Ukraine to the extent that they want the US to.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I don’t understand how there can be top level strategists out there on good money who would think that making abortion rights your primary issue would be an election winner.

Never underestimate the radical religious folk, of which there appear to be plenty over the pond
The solution to the abortion debate in 99% of cases is to have sex responsibly but nobody seems to want to consider that as an option.
I get what you're saying but also think about Non consensual events... A bit grim and probably another discussion. But you can't discount what you say in the overall picture

I presume that what happens when you don't listen to ordinary people about their real concerns. I listened to a pollster who predicted the Trump victory today on the BBC. He said there was a significant number of people that were ' difficult people to reach ' for pollsters, he said pollsters and politicians were often happy to go with their bias in the USA. The ' hard to reach people ' were those busy in full time jobs often working shifts who did not have the time or inclination to engage with pollsters or be persuaded vote just on so called progressive issues.

Sounds pretty similar to this country. I’m very surprised the BBC had the audacity to air that view!

The BBC did play him an extract of Trump saying migrants eat pets. It rather back fired as he said that Trump says an enormous amount in the USA and quotes like that tend to be used by the media rather than reflecting the full range of his views that USA citizens hear.
One thing no one seems to have mentioned which will now be detrimental to the UK possibly is that Trump said he is going to deport Harry. I hope he finds somewhere else other than here.

Our parties are democratically elected and we can change the Ruling party every 5 years if we want to. Unfortunately no opposition is allowed a Russian which is ruled by a dictator.
So comparing democratic countries with Dictatorships is not really bright.
