Don’t try to twist this into a normal situation.

We ONLY have two senior centre backs on our books and they are BOTH able and fairly likely to walk for free in the summer.

That is in no way comparable to a club with a normal playing squad having three players contracts expiring (that would be a worry in itself if they were all regular starters, which ours are).

You know that and you won’t fool anyone by pretending it’s the sort of thing that happens to well run clubs.

Wasn't it the same with Manning and Latibeaudie with the club not having or willing to provide funds to get replacements until after they had gone where as they should of had suitable replacement sourced before the last year of their contracts end, you can go back to the case of Van Der Hoorn with us not having a back up in place or planned as soon as possible in his case because he soon as he had a contract line up his form seemed to dip, giving him the benefit of doubt he did cone back from an injury and wasn't risking injury where as others were playing in the shop window to get a new contract like Paterson?

Why would Darling accept a transfer in January and deprive himself of a signing on fee that could quite possibly be seven figures. He only has to wait 6 months. He will run his contract down like Manning and Latibeaudiere.

Swansea city recruitment have a listing of all players running down their deals and use that to make low ball offers. Manning came to Swansea for pennies from QPR.

January deals do happen but is called an awkward window as players sit tight. Swansea could drop Darling to force him out of course.

If a club " really like him " they will make a good offer from fee and wages to get the foot in the door and get first mover advantage.

Yes. We left it too late with Manning and couldn’t compete with what Southampton could offer. Presumably the same with Latibaudiere and Coventry.

Don’t get me wrong, if Cabango and Darling left and we replaced both with the centre back equivalent of Tymon and Key (as well as at least one more as we’re criminally short in that area), I’d be happy.

Can you see that happening with them cost cutting and offering league one wages though?

What misleading comments has he made? Can you prove they are misleading or is it another assumption stated as fact? Honest question because I haven't seen what he's said.

We can only sell him if he agrees to leave, if he has set his mind on leaving on a free then we are stuck.

Any of our young players not on a full contract can be lured away and a tribunal will decide the "development fee" but being a Championship club we'll probably get screwed over, the EPL clubs always get the better end of those decisions.

Yournthird paragraph I agree with, Cullen isn't good enough. He's 25 now, time for him to find his level which I think is league one.

We have been recruiting in areas of the pitch where players needed, Piroe, Ntcham and Downes to name a few but sold them on as required to balance the books and in Ntcham he jumped ship leaving us shorter than we envisaged his loss on top of Piroe hit us hard in the forward position, as did the loss of Downes in the midfield, we shored up our defensive needs with the addition of Woods and Darling, Woods has gone and now we could have another hole to fill pretty soon, we are seen as an attractive option for players hence the signings seen this season but can the present ownership be able to find more investors as we seem to have lost the ability to recoup the losses with player sales.
With the wages issue rearing it head something has to change to address the problems the club find itself with.
Agree with you getting quality players in has been very tricky and will continue to be so.

But we couldn't repeat that strategy with a player like Manning now because we won't pay those sort of wages anymore.
We lose Cabango & Darling then we'll replace with less quality or untried youngsters

Manning was not " left too late". He ran down his deal at QPR and Swansea. He had no plans to stay at Swansea. He was running down his deal come what may.

To avoid this the club could have been a lot tougher and forece players out. Cooper was brutal with Asoro. I thought he would take a lot of shifting.

Cooper stated about the 23 year old. "Joel is not in my plans for this season and will not play again here".

Letting players and agents kick the can down the road is weak. Darling even put the blame on the club . Darling and co should be given a deadline over last summer. Sign up and commit of getting treated like Asoro.

It seems quite straight forward to me. Managers keep these player on to help them get enough decent results to keep their job.

How can we do that when he’s one of two centre backs?

Chuck them both in the reserves until they sign new contracts?

Do you know how much Darling currently earns, what would you say would be a reasonable offer for him to sign a new contract. Do you think he should sign a new contract for less money than he is on now. Do you know how much Pederson earns and should Darling sign a contract paying less than a player who can't and doesn't deserve to play in front of him.

Without you knowing the answer to these questions, you can't really comment on his position. If you did know the answers you wouldn't post what you do.

I would offer Darling a good deal. I would offer Cabango a reasonable deal. I'd probably not bother with Cullen. We could pick up better on a free in the Summer.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Watching Exeter tonight and Exeter 4 Tristan Crama looks very good. On loan from Brentford I think. Watched them a couple of times and impressed with him.

Why are you asking me these questions? It is available on Transfmrkt or somewhere on line I expect. Everyone is blaming the club which is losing money every week.

Swnsea city decide what is a reasonable offer and the player can accept it or reject it. Swnsea have given the players respect and endeavoured to give them a better deal through negotiation and it rarely works.

Darling said there had been no talks which Williams contradicted soon afterwards. Players and their agents are keen to use delaying tactics it seems to me and Swansea are working to cut a deal which as with Manning may be futile.

I am suggesting the club do not do this and should have given Darling a one shot opportunity to sign deal in the summer and then if rejected notifying him he is not in the club's plans. If he wants to play somewhere his agent would have to find him a club allowing Swansea to recover a fee. Asoro did not hang around.

In this case the fee would be with a discount. Darling came at about £2m at £500k per year devaluation in fee terms. It is likely that someone would have made an offer of £1m or more last summer. The club do not want to overpay a player that no one wants for a fee. This means his transfer value now is not great.

Cabango is a Welsh lad who has come through the ranks and it might be more worthwhile overpaying him rather than Darling. They are perhaps not keen on overpaying both. Pederson has not delivered and will be leaving in the summer.

Swnsea want a player that can develop and be worthy of a transfer fee in the future.
