I saw them a number of times inc Knebworth and had all the records. This was only going to work if Bonehead, Guigsy and one one of the old drummers were involved. Its literally now going to be Liam singing with the High Flying Birds, which ok does contain a former secondary member. Its not Oasis in my eyes and really both Noel and Liam have kept the songs going on their sets since the split.

I saw them a few times in the 90's including Knebworth and was always pretty disappointed by them as a live band.

Most of the time it was just liam standing around looking moody, Noel looking disinterested, very little crowd interaction and by the time of Knebworth you were basically paying to listen to people around you do karaoke rather than the band.

Personally I always though Pulp were the stand out live band from that era, and considerably better than either Blur or Oasis.

Go and see Noasis, decent enough tribute band, and probably only £20-25!

That's very much my thinking , a quid bus ride from Lordswood to Portswood, a few beers in the Drummond.
Share a few joints as we walk to Brook , more beer in the Brook , enjoy a hazy night with live rock n roll and a stagger/cab/ bus back home . ..all in about 50/60 quid inc ticket.

I certainly cant afford to be fleeced out of many 100s of pounds to fatten the pension funds of some poxy old has beens .

I agree with you they put on good shows and there will be a clamour for tickets, but I think that it is all based on 2 albums 30 years ago and very little of musical note since, whereas if you take someone like U2, they have constantly put out good quality albums that have variety in them and they haven't stuck to one formula

Agreed; for me you cannot compare the two.

Even if we go up to the point where I tailed of buying U2’s albums, that was still up to Zooropa which was 8 albums in.

Always great to see U2 and would spend good cash for that, but Oasis ain’t on that stratosphere for me personally.

Horses for courses I suppose

Pulp, now you're talking. Best of the Brit poppers, but maybe not the best of the era.

Always found Jarvis a really likeable and funny guy. He had real charisma. That just added so much to a live performance. In contrast, saw Oasis 3 times and kept thinking what an absolute knob Liam was.

U2 put on a show.
Oasis is 5 people playing music.
I have and would pay a small fortune to watch U2.
Oasis, I’ve been there and done it pre mobile phones.

I went to see Noel Gallagher last month but I managed to get a reduced VIP ticket last minute off Twickets.
I will probably wait and do the same next summer for Oasis.
If it doesn’t happen, so be it.

The next U2 tour, however, I will be purchasing in the fan club presale.

Gutted I never caught U2 on the Zooropa tour. What a spectacle and show.

The one downside of U2 however is Bono going off on one preaching.

It's about time. They've been behaving badly for years.

They might moderate their language on TV and even give up the booze but I don't think they'll be going to church on sundays. Still, it's good news for their mother.

I refuse to go and see them. Love their music, but a couple of things;

1) I was at V Festival the weekend they fell out and didn't bother to perform, I had to suffer the extremely boring Elbow as Sunday headline, zzzzzz

2) The concerts will be full of silly twerps born after they split up walking round like little tough guys (probably worse than the silly twerps at football) ...

Personally I wouldn't go to see them even if they were playing at The Concorde.
Couple of moody Mancunians don't do it for me, OK some of their music is OK but they do need some anger management.
Their gig will be 90 mins of shouting , sulking & swearing, I can get that watching our lads at St Mary's.

Can just see it now, everyone strutting about with daft haircuts, flares being set off during Cigarettes and Alcohol with the majority filming the whole thing to post / prove their attendance on Social Media.

Would find it hilarious if (as a pre-requisite to procure tickets) mobiles were banned from these gigs altogether.

It sounds wonderful: a crowd soaked in p!ss watching 2 big-headed brothers pouting and f--ing and blinding at each other. Who wouldn't pay £200 to see that?
