They could even divert the Vale of Glamorgan train line to run direct to the terminal rather than having to catch a bus to get from the nearest station to the airport. Major international airport like Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton have these direct rail links. Glad you finally agree that Wales needs modern transportation links. Perhaps Drakeford or his replacement, will finally accept the money from the UK national infrastructure programme to upgrade the M4. |
If we had an independent wales we could make our own investment decisions. London rule by its very nature never prioritises the needs of Cymru.

and yet the majority mode of transport is by road and we have a so called government who have publicly announced their transport policy is driven by the environment and with that in mind will not build any new roads, rejected the monies to upgrade the bottleneck of the main arterial route into s Wales but are willing to waste millions of tax payers money spent on a loss making airport, in addition adding to poor air quality which must go against their principles (obviously not) . Modern economies re based on modern ideas , not some purple headed, no mark, 3rd rate politician who has no idea of how the world works.

Now then, it makes you wonder why the Senedd will not upgrade roads then, will not build up a modernroad infrastructure to encourage businesses into Wales? The UK s a nation in Europe and it has several international airports. Good businesses survive, loss making businesses go under, unless they are owned by the Welsh peopke whereby, against all good sense an airport with falling passenger numbers and losing an increasing amount of money is being heavily subsidised by a Welsh government that is making cuts in important areas like the NHS, education and social care but ploughing hundreds of millions we cannot afford into CWL.

Cardiff will be starting with Qatar Airways in February. Phased in from February onwards to 20 worldwide destinations. A friend has recently booked to go to Doha from there.

Thar is if course why the UK government gives Wales £120 per person compared to £100 per person. Even with this extra 20% education and health care in Wales is the worst in the UK. Time to clear the deadwood out of the Senedd. Can you answer a few simple question for once please. What have the Senedd done to improve our terrible infrastructure in Wales? Why are they anti road investment? Where are they anti business ? Why are they anti tourist? [Post edited 15 Jan 12:24]

What have the Senedd done to improve our terrible infrastructure in Wales? *If we had the billions stolen from us under the Tory HS2 Great Train Robbery we could make a start. Why are they anti road investment? *They are pro future generations and pro devolution, not sure why you dont understand that ? Where are they anti business ? *They are anti-corruption, why is London so pro-corruption ? Why are they anti tourist? *They are pro-sustainable tourism, not sure why you dont want that ? It needs investment for the future. There is also your disastrous Brexit, clearly it must be reversed as 62% are now anti-Brexit. Its bleedin obvious.

UK general government gross debt was £2,636.9 billion at the end of Quarter 2 (Apr to June) 2023, equivalent to 101.2% of gross domestic product (GDP). England is not giving Wales money. England has no money.

Whenever i hear the phrase ‘3rd rate failed politician’ then i think of Johnson. Wait until the Russian interference comes into the light. 3rd rate is almost certainly a compliment.

Cardiff Airport on 11:27 - Jan 13 by felixstowe_jack | Blame the UK Government for the failure of Welsh government owned airport. The failure is entirely due to the Welsh Government and the people of Wales not wanting to use it. It has bad road road links which makes Bristol easier to get to if you live East of Newport. It is telling that no Major British Airlines runs flights from Cardiff. Only Scottish based airline runs flight from Scotland to Cardiff. |
I wish that people would stop perpetuating the myth about poor road links to Rhoose airport. M4, straight dual carriageway link road to Culverhouse, Port rd all the way to the airport. It couldn't be more straightforward or easy.

Its much better now that they've straightened 5 mile lane from leaving the A48 but the point being we the taxpayer are spending millions trying to support what should be a private enterprise. Welsh government are good at that but hi they always default back to Westminster , how about them ( and a few poster on here) taking ownership of their many expensive mistakes, They're supposed to be custodians of the Welsh nation ,I see little of that success

Not so great from Swansea though without going past to the west and then circling back on the A4320/A48. Last time I tried to find a new way (via Junction 34 and Hensol) my sat nav took me down such a narrow lane that my SUV could barely get through. [Post edited 17 Jan 20:21]

Not forgetting that young peope are being drivenfrom Wales because of a lack of opportunity so the average age is increasing, those young people won't vote for indy if they live in England and as the older heads will choose the Union it's a moot point really. Outside of the EU AND the Uk Wales would be in real trouble, specially if there was a hard border.

Sad to see that prosperity is just over the bridge, whilst we stagnate Brustol and its environs are such an attraction to the youth of s Wales ,although I read today that Rolls Royce are seriously considering setting up a factory in Cardiff with the prospects of a few hundred jobs ,lucky Cardiff ,again
