Maybe yes I do think an agreement will be reached gone on for too long now. If not somebody else will come in can't just be bossed into submission though, what sort of signal would that give out re Piroe and Grimes for example.

Martin now happy to join Southampton with no agreement reached ? on 21:39 - Jun 4 by guthrieintherain | The owners can't win with some. They have played a blinder in the way they have handled this. Credit where it's due and I am optomistic for next season. |
Owners played a blinder … jury out on that one, nothing achieved yet. Optimistic ? … how bizarre … why ?

It appears that they are touting Ward-Prowse for £40M, so that make Grimes worth about £20M based on their economics

New investment coming into the club. Reports on here indicating our manager search will not be held up. A clean slate for a new manager time will tell I guess. Player aquisition is my biggest concern. Again time will tell. Will they pay a little over the odds to get the right players the jury is still out for me on that one. [Post edited 5 Jun 2023 5:15]

I’m not really a fan of the owners, but I don’t hate them either. I understand they want to profit on their investments and that’s fair enough. I’m glad they are keeping the club sustainable. And I do think they’re good at picking managers, so my fingers are crossed for the next one being a pleasant surprise. And even though I liked Martin and wanted him to stay, I am now happy we are getting anew manager. So yes, the owners have done a good job here, if we manage to get full compo and a decent manager in. The new investment and player sales “should” enable the new manager some players we will desperately need. It’s actually going to give us some extra pull when appointing someone I reckon, because we need players anyway, the new manager will be able to bring in some that he wants, simply because we need them anyway. Exciting times ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™

That's what Jenkins did and we got the likes of Clucas. Last season (i think for 5 seasons) we have had a squad good enough for promotion, we've just needed a manager who can get the team playing as a unit. I liked our play under Potter but even that was fragmented.
