Although this dropped at the end of last year, the album should be this year. And knowing how this forum software likes to sticky the first post in a thread, it's fitting that at least some of this lot are QPR fans.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

I'm thrilled that Daughter is back with a new album in April. I love their album "Not to Disappear" and think their discography is solid top to bottom. Two songs have been released ahead of the new album...
"Be On Your Way"
"Party"

I'm semi-interested in a new Cure album. The problem for me is that they were basically my favourite band from Pornography (82) to Wish (93). And then they dropped off really hard. Wild Mood Swings was terrible, Bloodflowers was dull and messy and the ones after were basically unlistenable.
So I'm not holding out much hope for the new album, especially if Rob is tinkering with it. He puts too many layers on things which makes things almost a little shoegazey at times.
Also, with no Porl and Boris, the best guys aren't even in the band. I don't need to hear Reeves shredding up a solo on a Cure record.

I will admit I am much more interested in the Cure as a live act than a studio band these days. The new songs are giving me hope that a new album would give us the closing chapter that many of us hoped for with Bloodflowers (which I do like, but not anywhere near how I feel about Disintegration or Pornography).
As long as Simon’s around, I’ll be invested. He’s the reason I picked up a bass oh so many years ago.

Been listening to music avidly for 5 decades, but never tire of discovering new talent. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but the first is a great "cover", the second a creative masterclass...

Last I heard, there are 2 “finales” in the cannon.
A dark brooding album possibly called ‘Songs of a Lost World’, from which (as you mention) some songs were given a live airing last year. To be followed by an upbeat album.
Possibly up to 26 tracks between them (& B sides?)
To me, one of the great ‘singles’ bands from the last 40-50 years.

Cello Song by Fontaines DC getting a lot of play on 6Music. It's a reworking of a Nicjk Drake original.
Also Coocool from Roisin Murphy
