Black cats Match thread....... 23:11 - Aug 12 with 60740 views | qpr_1968 | i think i could be alone here, but i'm going for a 1-0 win. brave or stupid, i reckon mr beale will do his homework, tighten up the defence, and we will nick it.

Black cats Match thread....... on 11:49 - Aug 13 with 3374 views | francisbowles | I think we need to switch to three at the back today, so that Nico can play wing back and not left back. Bring in either Gubbins, he's left footed, on the left of Dunne or Masterson on the right and move Dickie central and Dunne left. Dieng Dickie, Dunne, Gubbins Kakay, Johanssen, Field, Hamalainen, Adomah, Dykes, Chair 541 in defence 343 in attack. subs Walsh, Drew, Masterson, Dozell, Roberts, Armstrong, Shodipo
Black cats Match thread....... on 11:59 - Aug 13 with 3308 views | BostonR | 40,000 expectant Sunderland fans will either crush us or play in our favour. If we can get to 0-0 at HT that would be a great start. They looked vulnerable in the second half against Coventry so maybe if we play on the break we can nick it - with Sinclair we have the ability to push their defence back. That said I will go for 0-0.

Black cats Match thread....... on 10:59 - Aug 13 by nix | What's the makem fans view of today's match? Are you confident? |
I don't think overly so. I wouldn't be surprised by another 1-1 draw as in our opening home game against Coventry. I've got money on QPR for a top-half and top-six finish this season so I'll be interested to hear reports from my pals on how you've played. I don't get to matches anymore I'm afraid. It's the couch and Jeff Stelling for me on Saturday afternoons.
Black cats Match thread....... on 12:14 - Aug 13 with 3197 views | ted_hendrix | Last time I was up there Sheron scored twice for us in a 2-2 draw which was handy and made the long journey home in the Escort van more cheerful, I'd take that right now. People need to get away from thinking our next two home games will produce points for us, football doesn't work like that, Blackpool and Rotherham deserve to be treated with caution and respect, they've earnt their right to be in this league. Our missing players today is a bit of a blow, we'll just have to be switched on from minute one.

Wow you're brave betting on us! Shame you can't make it to matches but hope you enjoy the game on audio or just from Jeff's updates. Must be an exciting season for you guys.

Black cats Match thread....... on 12:26 - Aug 13 with 3111 views | Toast_R | My concern today is that a weakened QPR side will concede an early goal today, drop their heads and end up with quite a shellacking 4 or 5 nil. That's how I fear it may well pan out. The key to get any success today is not conceding a goal early but I just don't see the defence holding firm. Predction 4 nil loss. Black cats Match thread....... on 12:52 - Aug 13 with 2999 views | QPRSteve | I don't think we will be quite as bad as some here think. 2-1 with one from Roberts and Kaka to score there screamer he's been threatening in recent matches.
Black cats Match thread....... on 12:54 - Aug 13 with 2974 views | Welsh_Ranger | I agree with one of the posters, I think we would be best going to a back 5 and making ourselves hard to beat primarily. Fingers crossed!
Black cats Match thread....... on 13:03 - Aug 13 with 2937 views | derbyhoop | If the side is as weak as Beale suggested, it's hard to see beyond a Sunderland win. But I said Charlie Owens might be added to squad. As he's just gone on loan to Colchester, best ignore everything I said.

I don’t think there’s been a lot wrong with our shape first three games. Three of our 4 goals conceded have come from or directly after corners, so we need to do better at them. I did feel that either side of half-time against Middlesborough we played with our full backs very narrow which gave them a lot of space out wide, particularly on Kakays side. None of our midfield were covering back until Albert came on. Hate to say it but this is the type of game where we could probably do with a Dom Ball type player.

It's sad to see that the club don't even know how to spell Nico's surname.

Half this Sunderland team played when they got turned over 6 nil by Bolton not long ago. They’ve been on a good run since but they haven’t played many better teams then us even with our injury problems

Looks like a straight-forward 4-4-2 to me. Adomah on the right, Shodipo on the left. Chair playing off Dykes

agreed....such a fatalistic fan base, reacting so dramatically to a lineup we've basically known since tuesday (ie, willock, paal, amos out, etc)
