For years I really hoped he would eventually become a part of the coaching staff at Dale although I seem to remember it regularly being said that he apparently had no desire to go into coaching after he retired.

Gary was working in a care home and said he found it very rewarding. I saw him advertise some soccer skills training at one point.

Hopefully the game will be benefit from having Jonah back in the mix, although I probably still won't go in for the romanticised idea that he should be given the managers job every time it becomes available.
