The Chinese passenger on that ship would have come into contact with crew every day before realising he was ill. cruise ship crews (entertainments/housekeeping/waiting/engineering) are all cheek to jowl below decks and they all share cabins - a ripe breeding ground for a virus to spread. |

Hmm, this is difficult but it has to be said. I think that some people do have a natural immunity to the virus, to varying degrees.
Some of us will come into contact with the virus and just get very lucky.
There are so many variables involved it's impossible to tie down why some people get infected and others don't, For example, you could open a door and the breeze could divert some particles that were destined for your nostrils. The wind could change, you could breathe out at the perfect moment. For some people it will be the precautions they took but for others it'll be pure luck. | |

This response is an attempt at diversion. Again.
They clearly didn't spend a month partying and circulating. As soon as the infected man was discovered after spending 5 days on board the entire ship was confined to their cabins and tested. As people were discovered to be positive they were removed from the ship.
You also have to bare in mind this was the original Wuhan strain which was nowhere near as infectious as recent strains.
That is also why everyone in a family doesn't get infected. You don't catch covid instantly you are within 2 metres of someone, the less you are exposed the less likely you are to contract covid. Families isolate themselves wherever possible, where its not possible the entire family often gets infected.
But in these instances the entire family don't get infected at exactly the same time. I've had friends who've tested positive a week after the rest of the family.
So can you prove there is some form of inate immunity to covid? |
As well as having no idea how the uninfected remained unifected you are also clueless about what happened on the Diamond Princess.

It was those with negative tests that were allowed to leave the ship on the 19th of February.
The positieve tested passengers remained on the ship until the 1st of March.

Cat, I first came across Immunity when I was 13.
My cousin knocked us both off our bikes and we were taken to the local cottage hospital where they gave us Tetanus "scratches" and told us to come back the next day.
My arm was red and swollen and my cousin's wasn't.
He was chuffed and I thought I might die of "lockjaw".
But my arm's reaction showed that I had a strong Immune response and his didn't.

Well it turns out that me and the wife have got covid.
Obviously caught from my nephew and his wife on Christmas day. I wouldn't have suspected it, but I've had a cold since before Christmas that didn't seem to go, and woke up coughing for about 20 minutes the night before last so got a test.
I've done 8 tests over the past 10 days (pcr and lft) due to travel and just tested positive so definitely contracted it since December 23rd.
I think I've been symptomatic for 48 hours and it's very easy to mistake for a cold, it's hard to be accurate because it's overlapped with a mild cold. I've genuinely had considerably worse colds.
I'm a bit concerned that most of the LFT'S haven't picked it up, the eventual positive line was incredibly faint, in fact barely visible. I'm grateful to be vaccinated, I feel well enough to go for a run and gutted that I can't.

It’s certainly my experience of LFTs too.
Loads of examples of negative LFTs followed by positive PCRs. I don’t trust them at all at this point.
On the flip side I’ve not know a positive LFT least to a negative PCR. I’m not saying this is a good thing, mind. | | | |
