If you have any doubts about vaccination…. on 16:26 - Nov 6 by Scotia | And both were after my post as far as I'm concerned. I received my booster because I got the appointment, I didn't rush to get it. It was my turn. I was grateful to receive it because it will reduce the likelihood of me passing it on to my parents. It was also a month before I was heading on holiday so didn't fancy being ill over that time either. I'm at very low risk from covid. There's an article today that claims the AZ vaccine efficacy against hospitalisation drops by about 20% after 6 months, the Pfizer vaccine by less but there is still a drop. So that would suggest some, but not many deaths, due to a drop in vaccine performance. Why would anyone (especially vulnerable people) not rush out for their booster under the circumstances? |

Number of new cases beging to fall particularly in the under 18s as the vacination roll out to this group seems to be reducing numbers. Also going down is the R rate with most areas between 0.9 and 1.1. London being the exception but London also has the lowest vacination rates. Hopefully as deaths usually lag 2 to 3 weeks behind cases numbers the number of deaths will soon start to fall. If only we could get the unvaccinated to accept a jab we could get on top of new cases.

So, what article? The rest are Doctors, but of course you know that and use the introduction to ignore what they have to say.

A report from SAGE. But they are hardly "the leading Dr's in Ireland" they're a handful of GP'S. They're introduced by an "anti covid restrictions" lawyer. The point is it is not an objective discussion, it's propaganda.

Where has anyone disagreed about waning immunity? The only person I remember is Dolores Cahill, one of your quotees. It's a moot point anyway due to the booster roll out.

No. SAGE is a large group of leading scientists. Not a handful of hand picked people introduced by a completely irrelevantly qualified person. It's an article all over MSM. I may look at the sage minutes tomorrow. This is what it says. The government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) estimates the protection against needing hospital treatment for a Covid infection falls: from 95% three months after a second dose of AstraZeneca to 75% after six months from 99% three months after a second dose of Pfizer to 90% after six months. The protection against symptomatic disease falls from 65% to 45% over the same time period with two jabs of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and from 90% to 65% for two jabs of Pfizer.

SAGE , are not all scientists, there are economists and all kinds involved. Another item about waning immunity https://uk.yahoo.com/news/vaccinated-patients-dying-covid-due-162945546.html

Interesting the articles says most who are dying are unvaccinated with numbers of vaccinated rising. Clearly 80s old despite have two doses of vaccines will have lower immunity due old age and other underlying health issues. If only we could get the unvaccinated jabbed their would be less people to catch it and spread it. Highest infection rate is among under 19s and 21 to 40. The groups with the lowest vaccination rates.

But surely the data is showing the vaccinated are spreading it as well? With all due respect, saying if only we could get the vaccinated jabbed is not going to happen, at this stage people who have not had it, are just not going to take it. I took a family member for the second jab, once the nurse administered it, she said 'there you go, you are now protected! That was in March, a few months later, it seems that they are not protected.

The vaccinated are spreading it, but not as much as the unvaccinated. Per capita that is of course. Your family member is still protected, perhaps not as much as 2 months ago but still far less likely to be seriously ill or die.

Not just spreading it but also dying from it now. All over 40s as the UK Gov data showed. The UK data that has now been removed because it told the "wrong story" that those nasty anti-vaxxers would use to say the vaccines weren't working. The only way it will not increase is if they can keep the booster rates level with the waning rates.

But dying in considerably fewer numbers, less than 200 a day on average, compared to nearly 2000 on some days earlier this year. Despite living with almost no restrictions. Last year we couldn't buy fireworks in a shop. Next week the biggest fire work display in Welsh history is happening. Over 400,000 people received the booster yesterday. We can vaccinate everyone smart enough to want a booster in 8 weeks. Re the link, you can use Google. Look through the minutes of SAGE. They're all on there.

Perhaps they should make an announcement, I would think some vulnerable people may be putting themselves at unnecessary risk, due to having jab and told they are protected. Just go on the news and say shield again or something.
