Previous encounters
Reading have failed to beat Swansea in the clubs last fifteen meetings, the last time they won was in 2008. Thirteen years ago. The last time the clubs met in the league cup was in 2017, just four years ago, the swans won 2-0. The 9,000 attendance that night was made up of 3,500 swans fans in the away end. We will look at the swans team that night below. It was an incredible line up compared to where we are today.

Substitutes Britton. Abraham J.Ayew. Mulder. Naughton. Fernandez Fulton

Anyone entering the next slice of life should be warned it isn’t pleasant

What’s this Reading all about then ?
Considering how dull, boring and thick Reading people are you would have thought the town would be called ‘Can’t Reading’ they have an extraordinary ability to be thick as mince. Pork mince. When Reading was invented it was meant to be a small room which people would gather and talk in some form of wurzelly gormless way. Hence the local dialect being called ‘Gormzelly’ Strawberry jelly was invented in Reading after a locals brain was lopped open and the contents were sprayed with cream. Reading is the biggest town in England due to the fact it can’t obtain city status, that’s how bad the place is. Six out of ten people from Reading think they are a sea port, the other four out of ten didn’t know where they were, let alone the place they inhabit. Reading did have the first female professor in the country though, when her distinction was recognised she moved away sharpish. There’s nothing good we can say about Reading, except it’s the fourth most likely place to win the best town in England out of three towns.

Warning over muppet

Did you know ?
Swansea City hold the record for the biggest FINAL win in the competitions history, 5-0 v Bradford City. The swans beat Liverpool away and Chelsea over two legs to make it to the final.

Regardless of the opposition, this is just what we needed.

A nice confidence boost, one of our frontline strikers off the mark on his debut and a good 90 minutes for RM to get his ideas bedded in. Excellent night's work all round.

You have to be happy but we also have to be realise the standard of opposition we have played against.
It will do us a world of good but we will have far stiffer tests.

Yes, Reading youth team. Good for match fitness though.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Reading's team may be young, but ours isn't that much older.

Good result, albeit against a weak Reading side. Hopefully Piroe’s goal will give him a bit of a boost and he can kick on from here.

I’m sure everyone is happy.

We just won 3-0, great confidence boost and winning is a habit.

People are just making the point that we played against Reading U-18’s essentially, and sterner and more realistic tests will be had pretty much every week from here on in.

Piroe’s first goal, Latty’s first goal and a Benda clean sheet. Some good take-aways.

Glad Piroe got a goal. And some praise from opposition commentators. Along with Cooper and they loved Grimes.

Reading's team may be young, but ours isn't that much older.

Massive difference between a team that's almost entirely 17, 18 and 19 year olds, and one with a 20 year old debutant and two teenagers off the bench. 3 or 4 years older on average, surely.

Important match fitness, tactical awareness/implementation, team gelling, and Martin has seen a few new players in a competitive match. All positives.

Listening to the commentators it seems the team is threadbare. They have not gone for youth. Those players are in their squad.

Chuffed for the lad, fair play.

Excellent reporting by Swansea Independent. Unrivalled in these parts.

Don’t give a crap who we were playing.

Excellent result and pleased for Piroe and Latibeaudiere in particular (Cabango has done it a few times).

Really pleasing result and from comms sounded very good.

Few new players and looking forward to the next game.

Agreed. It’s about experience too, not just age.

17 year olds never playing this level before and seasoned young pro’s in their early 20’s like Cabango, Piroe and Dhanda. It’s a world of difference.

Especially when you have the likes of Grimes and Naughton to sit alongside.

It was a good team selection.
