Hull centre back, Dutch, 25 years old. Anyone know much about him? Any Dutch fans know if this is a legit source rather than the Dutch version of The Sun?

Stuck it in a translator and it says we have signed him

You wouldn’t want a 50/50 challenge with him.

It does beg the question why Toni left if he is a CB. I can’t remember too many bad games he had.

He also could not be more different than Niko H if he is a LB, so it’s good to see we are sticking with the idea of bringing in the same type of player to suit a system

Good luck BFD

Hasn't played since November so may be a few weeks before he becomes a regular starter.

Poor old Geoff there, who'd been looking forward to some Netflix and chill this Saturday.

Must give Masterson a lot of confidence, not.

Well bringing Charlie in didn't do Dykes and Bonne much harm!

Well Charlie was all over the net before you said and the thread on the Dutchman was started by Aston Hoop so I don’t know what you’re trying to claim?

If one may dabble with the actual topic for a brief moment, he strikes one as a decent acquisition.

BFG seemed to fall out of favour over his distribution (I didn't think it was that bad) so am guessing this lad is intended to add steel while still being able to do the tippy tappy stuff.

Played plenty for Hull last 2 years. All seems reasonable to me.

I'm not convinced it can ever be reasonable to play for Hull

Toni was a right sided defender and Dickie has replaced him or Hall and is far better than either.

This guy is a left sided defender and is cover for CB and LB.

The one and only thing I'll say in Joey Barton's defence is he (along with Loic Remy) wore a long sleeve shirt and not short sleeve and base layer. The hooped long sleeve is a thing of singular beauty and de Wijs brings that back I don't care if he turns out to be Craap Stam.

Just watched Jordy's interview on the offy. He says one of his aims with QPR is to "Climb on the table". I think this is admirable. I sometimes like to climb on the table too.

Not much good with his feet by the sounds of it alas, though he might rival Barbet for the slightly delusional free kick taker spot it seems.

Think the best way to look at this is we've reached a developmental impasse with Masterson where he simply needs a loan and regular games for us to reap the benefit down the line. In the meantime de Wijs adds physicality we don't have (particularly on Barbet's left - though Barbs could move to replace Geoff in the three theoretically?) and it'll be up to him to reach the higher ceiling he was once believed to be capable of if he wants to stay longer. Not quite the experienced quick fix we all had in mind but could turn out better, could just be a footnote with no lasting damage outside of us getting relegated.

Barring the last couple of games, neither have we for the most part!
