Have to respect him as a man who isn't afraid to form his own opinions and say what he sees as the truth, however unpalatable it is to the media and the sheep. I always enjoy hearing what he has to say.
Morrissey? Sweet flippin jaysus. Is there a bigger, more overrated, complete rsebag of a sh!te singer from a sh!te band with just one (ONE) decent song to his name, out there.
Floppy fringed, rse flower hanging, hearing aid adldled plum. Basically the same song written over and over again in IRONIC bleeding capitals in the same monotonous non singing tone.
A jumped up rsebag with no fecking talent and dribbled on by students who don’t/didn’t know their rse from their elbow all wrapped as deep, powerful and right on sh!te. No humour but desperately trying to be humorous but ends up being a tw@t with a crap dance.
Diet Byrds twanging music, infant school lyrics and complete bo!!ocks faced rse drivel.
I never 'got' the Smiths although they wrote enough really good 'distinctive' songs to fill an EP which is more than most bands have done. I liked the Morrissey album with that 'Hector' song on it - I think that he's quite a bit mad so I'll excuse his political nonsense, which I wouldn't take any notice of even if he were completely sane.

Back in the days when I had hair, I sported a massive quiff. Yes, I was a student at the time. And I had national health (style - they were Paul Smith) glasses. It would be fair to say that I was a fan. I still am, to some degree, although he has become a bit of a self-parody these days.
'Your Arsenal' is still one of my all-time favourite albums. Massive sounds and pure rockabilly swagger all the way through. Several stand out tracks including 'The National Front DIsco', 'You're The One For Me, Fatty' and 'Certain People I Know'. It's a departure for Morrissey and is probably his best work since The Smiths.
And, yes, he is an arse.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'
I loved the Smiths as a student. I found Morrissey's poetic and witty alienation and misery, combined with Marr's brilliant playing (and hasn't he flourished in 30 years without his partner's toxic influence), completely irresistible. Then I got a girlfriend, cheered up a lot and lost interest.
Are people still surprised when a courageously original artist or performer turns out to be spiky and obnoxious? I can't understand why people are so scandalised and hurt by this that they have to wall themselves off from any possible taint. I want to see or hear them at work, not marry them or be them. Funny also the way that some get forgiven (eg David Bowie) while others have the bell hung around their neck forever.

agreed Dorse. The contribution of Messers Whyte and Boorer cannot be overstated also.
He's racist. No debate, oodles of evidence over several years. Calling him what he is doesn't make you a member of the loony left. Whatever your opinion of Sadiq Khan, is it right to pick him up on the way he speaks? Saying all the acid attacks are perpetrated by non-whites is factually incorrect and therefore $hit stirirng of the highest order.
Loved the Smiths, and thought 80s Moz was a genuinely talented, articulate, frequently funny artist.

This modern day version is odious.
This is exactly the point and to add advocating people vote or join blatantly racist For Britain is the clincher.
its also worth noting that Hitler wasn't left wing either.
Stealing a few left wing ideals and using them for your own cynical means does not make you left wing....
He should try reading a book or two on history before making stupid statements..
I’ve mentioned this before but.....ever gone to another families dinner? One where siblings and parents quibble over everything, you being the guest not bothered by the nuances find it all rather tiresome. That’s the Socialist family, national or international, giving us plods a headache.
The problem with pop stars is some people take them seriously in the first place.

I don't think I've seen anyone being scandalised or wanting to be walled off (?), just people ridiculing him for trying to be an edgelord by reciting a load of hackneyed alt-right / info-wars nonsense.

Agree. I think I'd struggle to listen to a Pol Pot album, no matter how good it was, but I loved the Smiths and some of Morrissey's work and his cartoon villianry and playing to various galleries can hardly be taken seriously won't put me off his music.
