Have to respect him as a man who isn't afraid to form his own opinions and say what he sees as the truth, however unpalatable it is to the media and the sheep. I always enjoy hearing what he has to say.

Loved the Smiths and, musically, he's a hero, but this is just more nonsense from him. Pitchfork and The Line of Best Fit are obsessed with his every utterance as NME and Melody Maker were back in the day. Then, as know, he'll contradict himself every second day, change his mind regularly, veer from left-wing to right-wing, from racist to anti-racist and basically say anything for clickbait. Can't be taken seriously, and shouldn't be.

Accusations of racism often an alternative to debate - blindingly obvious and repeated ad infinitum. Hitler on the left? Not refreshing or original, just wrong. Mussolini was a socialist as a young man, Hitler was an ultra nationalist on the revolutionary right determined to overturn a democratic republic that he felt was dominated by socialists. Politically correct lefties no doubt...

That Paul Finney fella from the podcast is a massive fan. A few years back he phones me and asks 'fancy seeing Morrissey live? I've got a plus one on the guest list'.... when I said 'yes' I was then informed 'you are not to wear a Smiths tee shirt or talk to him unless he talks to you first'.......I stayed in that night.i have seen him live though and he is boring as a performer. Best thing he sang was a BuzZcocks cover.
I've never owned a Smiths tee shirt in my life. I would never want to talk to him even if my life depended on it. I managed to see the Smiths three times in the early 80s, the last time being at the Rock Garden in Covent Garden. At the time I didn't appreciate them as every gig was full of students crying at literally every word he said. Having read his autobiography I have discovered he is a bigger tw@t than people give him credit for. Johnny Marr on the other hand is brilliant live and a better singer. His biography is a proper read.Hoping to see him in Islington next month.
