New Travel Options 16:29 - Feb 27 with 9064 viewsfbreath

Just had email from the club about the following bus options to the stadium.

https://www.swanseacity.com/news/swans-team-zeelo-fans-matchday-travel?_ccCt=C8s

SWANSEA CITY HAS PARTNERED WITH ON-DEMAND COACH SERVICE ZEELO TO PROVIDE SWANS FANS WITH A NEW INNOVATIVE WAY TO TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE LIBERTY STADIUM ON A MATCHDAY.
For Saturday’s Premier League game with West Ham, Swans fans will be able to travel together from 13 locations across South West Wales with the aim of making the matchday experience more enjoyable for the Jack Army.

Zeelo coaches will be in operation from the likes of Llanelli, Aberdare, Neath and Mumbles with passengers getting fast entry and exit before and after the game.

And to launch the new service, Zeelo are offering supporters the chance to travel to Saturday’s game for FREE with the use of a special promo code SWANS.

Zeelo uses leading technology to understand where there are large numbers of fans who have a difficult journey to each home game. They then serve this demand with executive coaches for a quick and seamless journey right to the stadium.

To start the initiative, the following routes will be in operation for Saturday’s game against West Ham.

Route 1 - Three Crosses, Dunvant and Killay.

Route 2 - Bishopston, Oystermouth and Mumbles.

Route 3 — Aberdare, Cwmdare, Aberdulais and Neath.

Route 4 — Llanelli, Loughor and Gorseinon.

A Swansea City spokesperson said: “It’s great that we can now offer this service to our fans. We are constantly looking to improve the transport issues on a matchday and this service from Zeelo is the first step towards that goal.

“Fans can enjoy a matchday with a drink or two and get to and from the game quickly and stress free.”

Barney Williams, co-founder of Zeelo, said: “We want to get as many fans as possible to the stadium every time Swansea play. This partnership allows us to provide a stress-free way to get to the game which is tailored for the fans.”

All services are run with executive coaches and customers can track their coach arriving in real time on a simple-to-use app.

All tickets must be purchased online at https://zeelo.co/t/swansea-city and the promo code SWANS entered at time of purchase to claim the free journey.

Return tickets will be sent directly to your mobile and are available from as little as £8 return for adults and just £4.50 for children and concessions

For more details, including ticket prices and pick up times, please visit https://zeelo.co/t/swansea-city

This service is run independently by Zeelo. All enquiries can be made at contact@zeelo.co or via their website https://zeelo.co/t/swansea-city

Well, it's free this Saturday anyway.

Seriously, it sounds like a positive development. No-one's forcing anyone to use these coaches so it'll be interesting to see how it does throughout the last few home matches.

I don't think they can be criticised in this instance.

£8 in Swansea and Brighton do it for free. Yes they can be criticised.

It is a positive development providing the charge is reasonable, I would certainly use it from the Gorseinon area but wouldn’t class £8 as being reasonable, just can’t see many using it at that price.

£8 they are having a laugh.

Seriously thought about using it from three crosses but £32 for 4 of us, I'll carry on driving.

It is a bargain when you consider you’ve either got to get there fairly early to find street parking, pay a fiver or so at one of the car parks, or take your chances getting caught in the snarl by b&q.

If they give enough time to have a couple of beers before or after the game, I’ll probably use it.

What impact did the Trust have with this deal? Seeing as it is for the supporters I would have hoped they were involved with the negotiations regarding the prices? I can't see they would have recommended this at those prices?

£7 from Gorseinon when they do charge. £3.50 each way direct to the Liberty sounds okay to me. Keep the riff-raff off the coaches. £5 would be better of course but if they get some nice executive coaches I will be happy enough.

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

It should take into account that people enjoy a pint before the game, it would be one of the reasons I would use it, I currently drive to the game.

The club should be applauded for attempting to help on the travel.
The pricing needs to be looked at.

Is this a Pearlman/Dineen idea or was is it The Trust? If it is the latter, the Trust should be taking credit for helping fans for this Saturday.

This should be a free service. I wonder who made the decision to give this the go ahead ?

Would this be something open to tender ?

I hate to say it but Scam Hamman was running free buses from Bridgend to Basseyville years ago.

We missed a trick then

Most people don’t travel in groups of 4 though. Fair enough it may not work for you, but that doesn’t mean it won’t for other people.

People who drive in alone and meet their mates there (which I usually do as the lads I sit with dont live anywhere near me) can now get dropped off at the ground and squeeze in a quick pint, before and after the game as well as half time without worrying about drink driving.

Elderly or less mobile people who find it a struggle to walk from wherever they park now.

The club get a lot of deserved stick on here, not sure they really need it for offering a transport alternative.
