Injury time deflected goals, corner goals, phantom goals, goalkeeper error goals, super strike goals - they are all hurting us at the minute and I think everyone is at a complete loss how to turn it around. The sooner the season ends and we are still in league 1 the better.
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

its not everyone's job to turn it around. it's keith's.
Nah it's character building!!! We are made of sterner stuff...
50 points - one more win required.
Roll on Saturday and watch for the reaction!
Up the Dale!!!
It should be more than character building, it should be a learning process. At the moment we don't appear to be doing that quickly enough.
One more win required? We required more points over the last ten games to maintain our realistic chance at the playoffs. There better not be any mention of the word "expectation" over the coming weeks because Hill himself mentioned on Saturday how the playoffs/promotion were a goal in January. We've not dealt with injuries and other absences anywhere near well enough.

I meant character building for us fans, not the players.
We have been in much worse form / predicament.
Daniels has a right to stand in the goals.. If NML has blazed over or wide then yes that would have been a poor miss.

We're not in the need of having our character built, it's obvious the team need to be far more resolute. That we have been in worse situations makes this one all the more frustrating because we've been invariably rubbish when we've struggled before. This squad has talented players and an ability level that isn't being matched by results, and it's over sustained periods that have harmed our chances of making the playoffs after being in a great position to reach them.
And it's a really bad miss, NML's reaction said it all. Had the whole goal to aim at.

Yes; he should have scored, but for me, he was our best player on the night, causing Scunny big problems throughout. Vincenti missed with a header late on, when he really should have hit the target instead of heading just wide. I'm more disappointed that despite a very good performance, we somehow contrived to ship another late late goal. And I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned the penalty claim we had (again following a superb NML run from inside his own half). The ref seemed to play advantage; only to immediately give offside. So...no advantage at all then???
The Scunny fans we spoke to whilst waiting to get off the jigsaw puzzle car park were very complimentary of the way we played, and admitted that we should have had at least a point.

Speaking of blazing over the bar, even Calvin can't scorer when he wants. We just aren't making enough of our chances at one end (more shots and shots on target last night) and we aren't stout enough at the other. Our goal difference reveals the big picture of this season perfectly and KH needs to address that big style if we are to progress next year.
It feels like we haven't been beaten out of a shot at the play-offs this year, but we've beaten ourselves.

I'm not having a go at NML - I think he's a wonderfully talented footballer and we are lucky to have him - even luckier if he signs a new deal (which I think is doubtful) but it's a shocking miss for a man of his talents - it's an easy finish for a usually great finisher and he won't quite know how he's managed to hit the keeper there. Mind you we all would have been still pissed off conceding an injury time equaliser!

There was no penalty.
NML was tackled and the loose ball ran to Henderson who was well offside.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
Then surely the last touch came off a Scunthorpe player, meaning Henderson couldn't be offside?
Possibly. I think that's what the Dale players were questioning, but it's difficult to say without seeing a replay - and even then it might have to be in slow motion.

The Beeb have it as vincenti who had the goal disallowed! I thought it was a good tackle and the ball then bounced through, Henderson didn't complain about the offside.

Yes it's was definitely reported as being Vincenti? Maybe they were getting mixed up with this one.......
