Thought he was absolutely outstanding today. Whole team contributed but he was brilliant defensively and always threatened up front. Watched just him for 5 minutes in the second half - never stopped running. Aggressive, chasing seemingly lost balls - the engine of the team for me. Great support, decent pies and a fiver to get in. Happy Days!

Great to hear. He's been doing this for a while now, once his fitness levels were brought up to speed. Fact is, he's a natural athlete and the opposition must hate seeing him on the pitch.

I'm sure there's still some who think he doesn't fit into Hill's style of play, or summat equally ridiculous, but now he's scoring regularly his critics have suddenly gone very quiet.

Not as ridiculous as calling for the club to sack Hendo.

Being proved wrong is one of the pleasures of being a football fan.

I called for the club to fine him and said I wouldn't be bothered if he played again for Dale

You can add to your list of being proved wrong the pleasures of using this messageboard

It's one of the pleasures of using this messageboard, being f*ckin stupid from time to time - although on that occasion I wasn't.

He's contributed little to our overall play (you can't count scoring from the penalty spot) for quite some time. I don't think we'll miss him whilst he's out injured, although I wish him a speedy recovery simply from a human point of view.

D_Alien you've never been stupid from time to time, you're never ever wrong about anything, like anything ever. You are the font of all knowledge and our moral guide.

"Our" ?

I wouldn't want to guide my own morals, let alone those of anyone else, and certainly not those of a group of people. As for knowledge, I'm good at reading, whatever font it's in

Couple of hours a day, for several days during the week to read the in-depth analysis, of pretty much everything that's worth knowing. It's a luxury I can afford, timewise.

Nice of you to ask.

Do they have kit pages?

I've often thought all publications should head down this route.

I'm sure it's a suggestion they'd be open to. They do a feature on each premier league club prior to the start of the season (players in/out, etc.) which features their main kit - if that's the right terminology? Needs to be more in-depth, obviously.

This is the only bit of quirky kit based knowledge I know so here goes.

What was wrong with one of the set of kits in the 1987 FA Cup Final? I bet you get this easily.

Some of the Tottenham shirts had a sponsor, some didn't.

Yup.

The following season Coventry had a Hummel half and half opposite colour kit. Which other team/teams opted for this style of kit?

Sorry, should have said English teams - so not Denmark 86

That's me done. Out of my depth. Do you remember the Barnsley kit with big white stars on it circa 1986/7? Worst of all time. Always remember David Currie in a proper mullet and pie n mash wearing it.
