Great thread LB. My watering holes in those days... Prince of Wales (Wetherspoons) the carpet would stick to your feet. They made you drink out of plastic pint glasses! The Park (HSBC) great pub Buccaneer (near the quadrant) My favourite... The Tikki bar. (downstairs from the Valbonne) That paper mache ceiling was amazing. The best pub of all on a SUNDAY night was the Bay view on the seafront. That place was heaving.
I was DJ in prince of wales 1975 it was not where Wetherspoons is now. I was also DJ in Top Rank and Buccaneer. The Tikki bar was upstairs in the Valbonne as i remember.

Errol Brown died this week I worked with him in the Townsman in 1975. There was a great story when he came to the front door to come in he got stopped by the doorman Tiny. Errol told him Im Hot Chocolate! Tiny says and I quote. " I dont care if your shit is chocolate your not coming in without a tie" great memories!

When we were 14 before swans games we'd go in the 4J's on Northampton lane and would get served, felt well cool drinking a pint at that age!
Used to love getting in their in the 80's . It was a hang out for the local skins from Swansea and Neath when I went there and a few old school punks. We drank in there before gigs down the Marina if anyone remembers that place. Saw many a decent band down there. Best was UK Subs tho I wasn't in to that style of punk that much. Snakeys band played down there, Dai Cooze to those that know of him, and of course as mentioned elsewhere Buller was a big name in those days, fck got lunatic. Boner used to hang around back then too, the old anarchist boy, fck I was about 16 / 17 then, must have been 1982 ish. Jeez 4j's brings back some memories.
21 years of my life in dora's, Dj in the 70's then managertill it shut in 9, seen some sights i can tell you, your right lol
The CoachHouse had a great cellar bar, Mal Pope told me he wasn't a swans fan there one night, but we won't go there. Some great nights, I recall a band there one night called 'The Snapping Bogseats' Swansea had some weird and wonderful venues.

You mean to say Mal jumped on the bandwagon to raise his own profile? Good grief!
