Given how few people on this thread seem to actually like Scottish people, I'd have thought it would make everybody happy that they were possibly and at long last getting their independence. There's a contradiction somewhere.
Yes love every one of 'em. Gawd bless all of 'em guv'nor!

OK, so we don't like the Scots. But then we don't like bloody northerners either. So let's have a country of London. Oh wait, London is full of darkies, and we certainly don't like them. In fact we don't really like anybody. There is only one solution: let each man be a country.
But I hate myself too though....

I'm praying the Scots vote yes, then we'll probably never have a Labour government again in England, thank the lord.
And I read somewhere that the Scottish government will owe the UK treasury something like £100 billion as part of their share of overall UK debt, please Scotland, vote yes.
Now let just hope the Welsh join them.

Because the coalition are doing brilliantly arent they. At last count they had done 57 uturns on promises made before the election. The same election where the opposition failed to attain a proper majority to defeat the WORSE EVER PM in living history, who just happened to be a sweaty !! You couldnt make it up.

If Scotland reneges on its £130b share of the debt they're going to find it affecting credit rating and borrowing as an independent setup would be tricky. I can't see the canny Scots voting for this, too much of a fiscal gamble. There still hasn't been a proper debate or a proper manifesto published. It's all going forward on a tidal wave of emotion,700th.anniversary of Bannockburn and all that.

Correct; a tidal wave of emotion, perfectly put.
I called my sister, laughing my head off when the ECB and the BoE both totally repudiated the little fat toad's claims that Scotland would adopt the Euro or Sterling.
I thought it was hilarious that the plans were so shoddy that the SNP hadn't even worked out something as basic as a currency. My sister just shrugged it off as a "detail". FFS!
The whole thing is a joke. If the Scots do go for independence it will be financial suicide on their part, all for some jingoistic view of what Scotland could or should be.
Still, as a Scot happily living in London (and not given a vote) I would look on with a sense of detached horror if they want all singing shortbread tin on us. It's insane. What the f*ck are they thinking?

The percentages don't seem to add up. The majority seems to be anti-English, another large lump of people seems to be part of the group which wants to wave Union Jacks at football matches, the Union flag representing a union with er England. Nobody votes for the 'Conservative and Unionist' party, and 40% want independence.

They're going to keep the Saltire - but with a tiny little pic of Mel Gibson in one corner.
When the statue of the Racist Australian aka Bravehart was put up in the car park of the Wallace monument I happened to be on holiday and went to have a look.
The most hilarious think is it actually really is statue of Mel Gibson.
To be fair it's a statue of him wearing Scottish warrior type kit and not one of him drink driving in LA and shouting obscenities at Jewish people.
That wouldn't have been appropriate.
(the only racism permitted in the car park is anti-English).
I suppose Balmoral will be turned into a theme park,or maybe a golf course? I can just see the Baked Bean serving drinks behind the jump at the 19th hole.
Given the jingoistic racist Nationalists ferver I wouldn't be sorry to see them go at this time.
As for Salmonds grasp of Economics, the Spanish told him to get to the back of the queue for the Euro and he suddenly U-turned claiming they would continue with the English Sterling Pound. Not very Independent is it? Get your own Bank and your own Gold Bars. The Bank of Scotland itself last week stated if Independence was voted for it would relocate to London. And if the Scots default on the £130 Billion owed to England the Economy will go into freefall for several generations much the same as Argentina who cant borrow so much as a Haggis on the International markets. By which time the Oil wells will have run dry.
The advantages to England, economically, of no having to carry their Free University places and Free Prescriptions as well as everything else they cost us are untold. All Salmond has achieved is to highlight the parasytical natureof the Scot within the Union. The English really should have the right to Vote to remove them from the Union if they bottle it in September and fail to do so themselves.

Seriously, though, what are these people on?
so a statue was erected for mel gibson? for making one of the most factually incorrect films known to man? thats nearly as bad as the cottagers and their statue to MJ
