Our next home opponents Ipswich, having bagged Alex McCarthy on-loan look set to pip Leeds for the signatures of two other so-calleed targets, according to the press,
Ipswich have agreed a deal with Leicester for defender Sean St Ledger. On Tuesday night, Talksport revealed that it was now up to the player to decide where he wishes to go. Leeds have also been linked with the former Preston and Eire centre-half this week and the player is apparently mulling over "other options" according to Town boss Paul Jewell.
Ipswich are also being linked with an ambitious move for ex-Leeds favourite Alan Smith, who reportedly was a summer target for us but the stumbling block was wages and his fitness. These issues appear not to be a problem for big-spending Ipswich, who signed Jimmy Bullard earlier this season.
Reports suggest that Simon Grayson is close to signing 24-year-old Robbie Rogers, subject to a work permit. The USA international winger was formerly of Colombus Crew and has won 18 caps for his country.
Speculation elsewhere is also linking us with a move for former Rangers striker Kris Boyd, who is somewhat at a loose end after a move to Turkey's Eskisehirspor has turned sour with the player receiving no wages. The 28-year-old however is also being rumoured to be considering an offer from Texan MLS outfit Houston Dynamo, as well as reportedly interesting Celtic, Wigan and Reading.
Hardly the sort of speculation to get Leeds fans dreaming in their beds!
