Norwich City Winning the Newspaper War Against Swansea

Regular checks on various newsfeeds show story after story after story about Brendan Rogers and his Swansea side as they prepare for tomorrow's clash with Norwich City at the Liberty Stadium.

Brendan Rogers Eyes Meaner Swans Defence; "Time to up the Tempo", says Brendon Rogers Ahead of Crunch Match; (Andrea) Orlandi: We'll Be A Different Side Against Norwich.

And from Norwich? Boss On Swansea Clash.

As dangerous as it is to go into any game in the Championship thinking it is a done deal, the hiding handed out to Scunthorpe last weekend has boosted the players' confidence, as well as the supporters. Norwich City also has the luxury of knowing that we still have a one point cushion if things did wobble.

The Norwich players' tails are up, and while the likes of Swansea and Cardiff debate about who is good enough for the second automatic place, the Canaries will have one eye on Queens Park Rangers.

True, the London club is ahead by nine points, and their run-in looks preferable to Norwich's fixtures, but teams have wobbled in the past, and there is the Old Farm derby. How much does every Norwich City supporter long to be able to sing that song out in Ipswich, once more? Top of the league at Portman Road.

There is still a huge hurdle ahead of Norwich City, with Watford on Tuesday, followed by Forest and Ipswich, so it might not happen this year. Even maintaining a grip on the second place will be tested. That will not matter to the squad, though.

The Y'Army has seen, over the past two seasons, a bunch of players who are determined to make the break into playing football at the highest level. Grant Holt's new three year contract is enough to show his team mates that if you give your all, as he has done, he can rise to the top of the game with Norwich City.

Swansea will present a formiddable force to try to spoil the party for Norwich City, but Scunthorpe never arrived at Carrow Road prepared to lose by six goals to nil. Plus we have the knowledge that we beat the Swans by two goals to nil last August.

Things do seem to favour the Canaries to the Swans.

Come On You Yellows
