According to Independent R's the Development squad got knocked out of the London Senior Cup 4-5 on penalties after drawing 1-1 after 90 minutes on a damp Tuesday night. It doesn't seem to have deserved a mention as yet on the Official. The report is dated 14 November 2024, so I take the chance that the game wasn't played on a Tuesday in the last century. |

Didn't the same people do last January well? Judging by our improved results from February to May I thought they did. We were quite lucky (or clever possibly) with injuries in that period. We've done badly since the summer window but obviously it's been a terrible time with the injuries, while the summer signings are bedding in. Personally don't think the summer intake was all bad, but unfortunately probably the key one Cellar has still not scored, though I think he's made a slight improvement in the last couple of games, and we didn't get another LB having let Larkeshe go. I'm ok with them doing the next window as long as Marti is well involved in player selection as I understand he was in the summer. |

Nobody has to be blamed necessarily. We are bottom of the table, not far off where we'd be ranked by budget size or attendance with around 8 1st team players out injured including our best players, at the same time as we have been trying to bed in new players. Mistakes have no doubt been made, but there is still time to stay up this season by working hard in training, at getting injured players back asap, and if possible financially bringing in new players where we need them in January. "Fan mobilisation" against Nouri or anyone else at the Club isn't going to help that. |

Marti said Colback had an operation, on his knee if I remember right, a couple of weeks back, after they had delayed that hoping the problem would clear by itself. |

Agree with most of these comments. Maybe I missed it but I'd add Field wasn't always as good playing at CB as he has been this season. He used to get into the wrong position but looks to be much more comfortable there now. Only on that early gap between him and Cook that the Window nearly exploited an open door yesterday did they look not quite right. |

The Ref annoyed me by being so fussy about the ball being in precisely the right spot at corners and free kicks. He wasted time himself doing this and then gave a very short 5 minutes added time after their repeated time wasting particularly from their GK even with his yellow card, and the many substitutions including in his 5 minutes added. Got the red card right I think. |

Sinclair had threat too from his strength and speed, ability to get past last defenders and drag in others to stop him, leaving space for our other attackers who failed too often to use it. Sinclair provided excitement too. Dykes all round game was far better than Celar's too, to date. There were small signs yesterday that Celar may come good, here's to hope! [Post edited 3 Nov 9:43]

Due to rising sea levels and frequently abandoned games resulting from major floods, all plans involving digging down have been abandoned. As most Clubs, we are looking to build a new stadium on top of in demand mountains. |

It was a very sound defensive performance away at a promotion favourite on the back of poor results and our next to bottom league position, but our inability to manage so little attack wise was worrying. I watched Norwich - Boro yesterday and both teams, especially Boro, looked like they were in a League above to me rather than teams just outside the top 6, particularly in the way they managed to pass their way forwards through midfield. Worrying in that we play Boro soon and other teams not far above us in the League look so much better than us. We need to improve our game going forwards, while maintaining a solid defense. Difficult when unlike others we need to give so much help to our backs from Smyth and Saito, which reduces their attacking threat and with Celar we play virtually with no striker. I think we need new and better players at LB, striker, probably in midfield too, but not sure we can do that in January with our FFP situation. |

Sadly I've seen nothing yet from Celar and now it's been a fair bit of playing time. I'm sure Dykes and Armstrong, Frey too come to that, would do of got onto the ball yesterday in their differing ways and caused Burnley some threat. Celar isn't big and doesn't even try to win balls in the air with his hight or physique as Dykes could. He is one placed and presents nothing like the threat, disruption and ability to get behind defenses Armstrong gave, plus the excitement totally absent in Celar. Fox in the box? Seen nothing yet, more an ageing female cat sleeping on a mat in the corner. I've seen positive attributes in all our 1st team summer signings, but nothing at all from Celar. Can only believe most Swiss teams are far weaker defensively than they are in the Championship. |

I buy it. Don't think Marti is lying direct to supporters. I don't see he has any reason to on something like this either. That 1 player drops out the morning of an away game feeling sick or with a niggle is fairly usual, but 2 less so. |
